Who you are
- Our Sales team are passionate, professional and enthusiastic, and we are looking to welcome a Business Development Consultant with a shared interest in Bumper's scale-up journey - aiming to embed Bumper as the leading payments and insights platform!
- If you’re an experienced Business Development Consultant with a full, clean driving licence, and you thrive on building strong relationships, delivering insights, and driving product adoption, we’d love to hear from you!
- Experience in consultative selling and managing full sales lifecycles
- Confidence in presenting and educating customers on new products
- Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen
- Familiarity with CRM systems and data-driven decision-making
- Automotive experience within franchised dealerships
What the job involves
- As our new Business Development Consultant, you’ll play a key role in driving growth through customer acquisition and nurturing existing relationships. You’ll be expanding our portfolio of automotive retailers, leveraging our strong relationships with OEMs and prestigious dealerships across the East of England
- Reporting directly to the Sales Manager – PayLater, this role will be remote, with an average of 2 days per week visiting customer sites and 1 day per month in the office for the monthly sales meeting
- Developing and maintaining relationships with our existing automotive customers
- Identifying and acquiring new customers, boosting Bumper advocacy and referrals
- Conducting account reviews to drive engagement and performance
- Delivering on-site training and support to ensure successful onboarding
- Communicating Bumper’s value proposition clearly and effectively
- Generating leads and supporting account activation
- Driving growth of our PayLater product by identifying opportunities and showcasing its advanced insights and performance-enhancing features

For over a decade now, Bumper has been helping car owners navigate dealerships and repairs. Now, its focus is predominantly on helping owners break down costly repair bills from trusted garages into affordable monthly payments, with the help of a 0% interest loan.
It’s a smart premise, and one that tapped into the trend for buy-now-pay-later services, in part accounting for Bumper's impressive growth that saw the FT name it as the eighth fastest growing fintech in Europe in 2021. It remains a leader in the space, and the largest company of its sort on the market, with little in the way of substantial competition to its unique focus or impressive footprint.
Bumper has ambitious goals for wide European expansion, having already grown from the UK into ROI, Spain, and Germany. Funding raised by the company will support this expansion, and ensure it is able to continue its formidable growth trajectory.
