Company mission
To define a new standard for service in freight and push the limits of what’s possible for itself and its partners every day.
Role
Who you are
- This is a hands-on leadership role suited for someone who has earned their technical credibility in the field and now brings that experience to a team — not as a manager who watches from above, but as a leader who can diagnose a problem, roll up their sleeves, and set the standard for how work gets done
- The ideal candidate is equally comfortable presenting infrastructure strategy to executive leadership as they are hopping into a Jira queue to unblock their team
- You're a technical leader who leads from the front
- You know what good infrastructure looks like because you've built it — and you're not above jumping into the work when the team needs it
- Beyond the technical skills, you bring genuine curiosity about the business, the maturity to operate across functions, and the drive to leave things better than you found them
- 7+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure, including at least 3 years in a leadership or management role
- Hands-on experience with enterprise WAN/SD-WAN, cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or GCP), and corporate network architecture and design
- Demonstrated expertise in identity and access management — Okta and/or Google Workspace/OAuth experience strongly preferred
- Proven ability to lead and develop a technical team, including managing managers and driving cross-functional collaboration
- Experience managing ITSM workflows and tooling (Jira or equivalent) with an emphasis on queue health, prioritization, and team throughput
- Strong project management skills with the ability to plan, communicate, and deliver infrastructure initiatives on time and on scope
- Experience designing and delivering network infrastructure for corporate office environments
- Demonstrated ability to build productive, trust-based relationships with business stakeholders — not just technical peers
- Experience at a logistics, supply chain, or high-growth operations-focused company
- Familiarity with AI infrastructure requirements — compute, cloud architecture, or data pipeline design in support of ML/AI workloads
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, AWS/Azure/GCP professional-level, Okta Certified Administrator or equivalent) are a plus
- Exposure to ITSM process improvement, including maturing a Jira-based infrastructure operation
What the job involves
- The Director of Infrastructure will lead and mature our cloud-based infrastructure operations
- Reporting to the VP of Information Technology, this Director will own network, systems, and identity operations across the enterprise — while also serving as a key partner to teams across IT, Security, Facilities, and the broader business
- This role is a critical investment in Arrive's technical leadership pipeline
- You will inherit a capable team, a mature cloud-first environment, and a clear mandate: stabilize, optimize, and build toward what comes next — including the infrastructure foundation for AI-enabled operations
- Lead day-to-day infrastructure operations across WAN/SD-WAN, cloud networking, and corporate network environments, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability
- Oversee the health and execution of the infrastructure ticket queue (Jira), coaching and managing the team to maintain throughput, ITSM standards, SLA discipline, and quality of resolution
- Serve as an escalation point and hands-on problem solver — when something needs to get done, be the leader who demonstrates it can be done
- Drive a culture of operational rigor: proactive monitoring, documented runbooks, and consistent execution standards across the team
- Own the full lifecycle of identity and access management tooling, with primary ownership of Okta and Google OAuth/Workspace integrations
- Partner with the Director of Security on policy and governance; continue to implement and operationalize SSO, MFA, and access controls across all systems where applicable
- Lead IAM integrations for new applications and technology rollouts, collaborating with Security to ensure implementations align with policy and compliance requirements
- Proactively identify gaps in access hygiene, onboarding/offboarding workflows, and integration coverage — and drive remediation
- Lead infrastructure design and delivery for corporate office buildouts and expansions, owning the network architecture from planning through commissioning
- Ensure consistency and scalability of Arrive's enterprise network footprint, including wireless environments and access layer design
- Conduct regular assessments of team capacity, skill gaps, and tooling needs; build the case for headcount and resource investments when warranted and present them to leadership
- Foster an environment where team members take ownership, grow their skills, and feel supported in solving hard problems
- Be a visible, proactive partner to the business — show up on the floor, engage with team leads and department heads, and surface problems before they become incidents
- Build strong peer relationships with Security, Service Desk, Facilities, Applications, and Employee Success — operating as a collaborative, trusted counterpart across functions
- Prepare and deliver periodic infrastructure status updates, roadmap summaries, and initiative briefings for VP-level and executive audiences
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure infrastructure design keeps pace with AI adoption, providing scalable and secure foundations for new tooling and workflows
- This position will have both direct reports and managers with direct reports
Our take
Arrive Logistics, a rapidly growing multimodal transportation and technology company based in Austin, Texas, has emerged as a key player in the U.S. freight brokerage industry. From its impressive $30 million in truckload sales during its first year to a staggering $2.4 billion in 2022, Arrive Logistics is clearly on a trajectory for substantial growth.
The recent establishment of a new office in Guadalajara, Mexico, underscores Arrive's commitment to expanding its footprint and enhancing its cross-border logistics capabilities. This strategic move aligns with increasing trade activities between the U.S. and Mexico, catering to the growing demand for localized logistics solutions. The Guadalajara office will facilitate seamless connections across Arrive's North American operations, leveraging local expertize and resources to drive operational excellence.
As consumer expectations for faster shipping evolve and eCommerce continues to flourish, Arrive Logistics' proactive response to these market dynamics positions it uniquely for continued success in the dynamic freight industry landscape. Bolstered by significant investments across multiple funding rounds, the company continues to intensify its focus on team expansion and service diversification.
