Role
Who you are
- You should demonstrate the mastery of the fundamentals of computer science and be comfortable with implementing and shipping end-to-end features and fixing complicated issues with light supervision from a senior engineer
- You should also be comfortable using AI coding tools to accelerate delivery, and be able to review and validate AI-generated code for correctness, security, maintainability, and alignment with team standards
- We are looking for self-motivated team members who crave a challenge and feel excited about rolling up their sleeves to realize our potential
- This is a fullstack position and successful candidates will demonstrate being comfortable working across both frontend and backend. However if you consider yourself a stronger frontend or backend engineer please still apply. We recognize that everyone brings unique strengths, and delivering products is a team effort
- At least 2 years of professional experience
- Strong fundamentals of building end-to-end web applications using JavaScript or TypeScript
- Experienced with Git and GitHub
- Experienced working with AI coding tools like Cursor & Claude Code
- Container services such as Kubernetes experience a plus
- PubSub/Eventing pattern experience a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. What you’ve built matters more than where you studied
What the job involves
- As Software Engineer II Full Stack, you will be working on a product squad to develop new features and enhancements for our product
- Work directly with an engineering manager and other software engineers
- Self-starter with the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplined team with a product manager, product designer and QA engineer
- Have a strong sense of teamwork and put the team’s and company’s interests first
- Must be able to operate in a fast-moving environment with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements
- Experience designing, building, and operating production services
- Experience building and operating high performance multi-tier web applications, including REST APIs and optimized database operations

Shopmonkey provides cloud-based management software specifically designed for auto repair shops. The software consolidates appointment scheduling, inventory and finances into a single digital platform. The aim of this service is to help streamline auto repair workflows and help speed up business growth.
Shopmonkey is trusted by over 3,500 shops, and is beginning to scale to personalize its services for bicycle, motorcycle and marine shops. The startup has recently formed a partnership with Affirm, allowing repair shops to offer flexible pay-over-time options and making it easier for customers to manage the cost of maintenance and repairs.
