JavaScript Engineer, Urban Sky

• 5+ years of work experience, or an advanced degree plus 3 years of experience
• Full-stack web development experience, with proficiency in the following technologies:
• Node.js
• React
• Typescript
• Postgres

• Urban Sky is at the forefront of innovation in the aerospace industry, and as a Software Engineer, you will be a key player in our mission
• Your primary responsibility will be to make significant contributions to our custom mission control software, a cornerstone of our operations that ensures the seamless execution of balloon flights and data collection missions
• Your contributions to our software will largely serve our existing and expected end-users, including external parties that buy and operate our stratospheric systems today (i.e. the U.S. Department of Defense, including the U.S. Army and the U.S Air Force.)
• Experience working with DoD end-users is not required or expected, but is a plus
• As a Software Engineer at Urban Sky, you will find yourself working on projects that demand not only technical excellence but also a deep understanding of the aerospace industry
• You'll be part of a cross-functional team that includes aerospace engineers, scientists, and software professionals, collaborating closely to transform project requirements into innovative software solutions
• You will play a pivotal role in creating documentation that ensures the integrity and maintainability of the software you develop
• Your attention to detail and dedication to producing high-quality code will be crucial to our success
• Web App Architecture: You will be responsible for architecting web apps using modern web development tools - Node.js, React, Typescript
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with diverse teams of engineers - effective communication and teamwork are vital in this role
• Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation for the software you develop, ensuring that it is well-documented for reference and easy maintenance
