Who you are
- We’re not just looking for someone who can move pixels. We want someone who’s curious about users, enthusiastic about learning, and excited to grow in a team that cares deeply about the craft of design
- A first hands-on experience in product design
- A solid foundation in UX/UI principles and a real appetite for building intuitive user experiences
- Proficiency in Figma (our main tool) and an interest in design systems
- A collaborative mindset : someone who communicates clearly, is open to feedback and enjoys working in a team
- A sense of ownership, curiosity, and initiative
- Bilingual French/English, or at least comfortable in English for a multicultural team
- We’re looking for someone who might not tick every single box, but who’s motivated to learn and grow
What the job involves
- At Jow, we’re building the future of grocery shopping, and we believe design plays a key role in making it joyful, simple and human. We’re looking for a Junior Product Designer to join our small but mighty design team
- You’ll work closely with our Design Lead (Cécile) and cross-functional teams to imagine, prototype, and ship delightful experiences to help people cook and shop better, every day
- This is a unique opportunity to learn fast, contribute to meaningful features, and grow as a designer in a product-centric team

- Design challenge - a short take-home exercise to see how you think
- Design challenge review & final interview - you’ll present your work to a small group (designer, PM, developer) so we can dive into your thinking and discuss how you approach product and collaboration
- Coffee fit - informal conversation with other Jow team members
Our take
There has been substantial innovation and change in the food industry during the last decade. Consumers are constantly seeking out the next online trend to sort their time-poor, unsure-what-to-cook, must-be-healthy needs. Jow joined the space in 2017 with a hope to bring healthy and sustainable meals to peoples doors through automated, personalised menus.
The company hosts an app that provides countless recipe options. Upon registration, users answer questions from household composition to allergies and location. From this info, Jow crafts a personalised menu and generates a matching shopping list. What sets it apart from other meal kits is that users can then add any other essentials they might need from a grocery shop.
Recent funding will allow the company to expand into the US market, branching out from its French roots. Its an exciting time for the company, though it will be interesting to see how expansion continues as the strain on people's pockets sees many of its fellows facing falling subscription rates.
