Who you are

Have some prior writing experience — technical blog posts, documentation, or coursework — and a knack for explaining complex ideas
Understand basic technical concepts like APIs, databases, and command-line tools (you don’t need to be a developer, but you need to be tech-curious)

Can quickly learn and adapt to new tools, including AI-assisted writing workflows

We don't require previous experience with our tech stack, but enthusiasm for learning is key. Our technologies include PostgreSQL, Tiger Cloud, AWS, Go, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, and innovative features like Hypertables, Hypercore, vector search, and real-time analytics

What the job involves

You’ll be the voice that makes our complex tech accessible
For the next six months, you’ll partner with our engineering and product teams to refine documentation, tutorials, and release notes that make our PostgreSQL-powered platform crystal clear to developers and customers alike
You’ll be joining a team that’s serious about accuracy and speed — and you’ll have the freedom to experiment with AI tools to work smarter and ship better docs faster
Update, edit, and publish technical documentation including API references, product guides, and how-to articles
Translate complex engineering concepts into clear, concise, and accurate instructions for technical and semi-technical audiences
Partner with product managers, engineers, and support teams to gather and validate information
Heavily using AI tools (e.g.,Claude, or similar) to draft, edit, and improve technical content while ensuring accuracy
Organize and maintain content in our documentation systems for easy navigation and discoverability
Update documentation in sync with product changes and release cycles

Timescale helps developers and businesses manage and analyze big data sets that power large-scale operations. It offers this through its own open-source time-series SQL database which, unlike many competitors, is built with PostgreSQL.

The product’s broad client applications include finance, logistics, and space. It serves hundreds of customers, with tens of thousands of other organizations using the TimescaleDB platform in the community (including companies like IBM, Microsoft, Pfizer, and Samsung, among others.)
