Who you are

4+ years of advanced mobile development experience using React Native and TypeScript
Experience with native mobile languages such as Objective-C, Swift, Java, or Kotlin
Backend experience with NodeJS/Express as a plus
Strong understanding of mobile app architecture and performance optimization
Experience integrating with Redux or other state management solutions
Familiarity with mobile-specific testing tools and practices
Experience with expo plugins
Knowledge of REST APIs, service-oriented architectures, and PostgreSQL
Excellent communication and collaboration skills across remote teams
Experience with generative AI and designing agentic user flows that leverage AI to assist or automate user tasks

What the job involves

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Mobile team and help drive our mission to empower healthcare professionals
As a Software Engineer on the Mobile team, you’ll take ownership of high-impact features and user flows that help clinicians register, create profiles, and find job opportunities
Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to build high-quality mobile experiences using React Native and TypeScript
Lead end-to-end development of features and user flows in our iOS and Android applications
Ship iteratively, starting from MVP to full-featured implementations
Architect scalable, well-tested, and maintainable mobile solutions
Contribute to shared UI components and design systems to ensure consistency across the app
You’ll work on core features within our mobile app used by healthcare professionals, such as:
New user registration
Existing user profile enhancement
User job searches and job application flows
You’ll also contribute to the mobile platform infrastructure, including:
Continuous Integration and build automation
End-to-end testing and release stability
Maintaining up-to-date, secure, and performant dependencies

Our take

Vivian is a recruitment and job search platform helping healthcare staff locate and secure new placements. Beginning as "NurseFly", it changed its name in 2021 to reflect a broadening focus from travel nursing positions to healthcare staff at large.

The healthcare recruitment market has long been plagued by costly hiring processes and a lack of transparency. Taking these issues head-on, Vivian’s job match and messaging features streamline and readjust the way this operates, which is how the company has become the largest labor marketplace for US healthcare.

With the increasing turnover in healthcare staff, and fears that many workers will leave the industry entirely, institutions are under increasing pressure to address the shortcomings of healthcare staffing. Vivian is poised to address this issue, making for a large opportunity for its future growth and development.
