Role
Who you are
- Product Experience: Minimum 5+ years of Product Design across web and mobile
- An AI enthusiast: You’re up to date on the latest AI technology and have been trying out different tools that help give builders superpowers
- Leadership Experience: Prior experience setting and delivering on a strategy you crafted, where you were accountable for the outcomes
- You are excited about building a strong design foundation, but also eager to roll up your sleeves and do what it takes to ship products and features our users love
- You’ve been part of a high functioning product and design team and have a knack for user research and UX design, but can be effective across a number of other product design functions
- You’re ready to take ownership design process and the end-to-end designs of the most critical areas of our product
- Technically proficient: Mastery of Figma and comfortable with frontend engineering frameworks
Desirable
- Management: 2+ years of experience managing small teams or leading impactful projects
- Experience working on growth teams and / or marketplace businesses

- We’re looking for a thoughtful, talented, and mission driven Product Designer to join our growing team, shape our product, and help establish a design centered culture across the company
- Your work will help professionals to gain additional skills, earn extra income, and run their businesses more efficiently
- Take high level product ideas from conception through execution, across web and mobile
- You'll work across a wide range of areas - product strategy, user research, and UX/UI design in particular
- Play a key role in defining design quality and vision of our pro-facing mobile app (7 Million + users)
- Take joint ownership of metrics and strategy with the product team, and work collaboratively with engineering and operations to achieve goals
- Implement the design tools and processes needed to build the foundation of a high functioning, world-class design team
- Mentor our team of product designers and implement the design tools and processes needed to build the foundation of a high functioning, global design team
Our take
Around 57 million workers in the U.S. work on a 'gig' basis, providing short-term and one-off employment for a range of industries. However, due to the temporary nature of gig work, workers and understaffed employers are regularly let down by cancellations.
Instawork hosts an online marketplace that connects gig workers with local businesses across a variety of sectors including healthcare, hospitality, and warehouse work. Workers are paid hourly upon completion of a gig, at which point both the employer and worker themselves can provide feedback on the experience.
Whilst the startup faces competition within this gig-work industry, Instawork holds a smart focus on providing reliable and short-notice workers for businesses that need them. Gigs can be arranged within just a few hours of notice, and any employer or employee who cancels a job will be temporarily suspended in order to improve job success rates. Instawork's 2023 Series D funding is accelerating its AI capabilities and expanding its presence within staff distribution centres for some of the American continent's largest retailers and sports stadiums.
