- 6+ years of experience in product management with a proven track record of success in developing and launching genomics and data-driven products in the biotech/healthcare industries
- Bachelor's Degree is required. Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., computer science, data science, bioinformatics, or related) is preferred
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills to interpret complex data and market insights and translate them into clear product strategies and actions
- In-depth knowledge of software tools, data analytics, and their applications in healthcare, particularly oncology
- Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate complex concepts to stakeholders
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving market environment
- Experience with regulatory requirements and standards in the healthcare industry is a plus
What the job involves
- BillionToOne is seeking an experienced Principal Product Manager, Software Oncology to lead the product management efforts for our oncology product line, from EMR and digital experiences to clinical decision support tools
- As the leader in oncology product management, you will be responsible for the full product lifecycle from ideation and development to launch and growth for several key initiatives
- The Principal Product Manager, Software Oncology is a hybrid position (2-3/week at our Menlo Park facilities) and reports to our Senior Director of Product
- Product Strategy and Roadmap: Define and drive the product strategy and roadmap for the oncology product line, aligning with the company’s vision and business objectives
- Product Development: Lead end-to-end product development, working closely with engineering, data science, and design teams to deliver high-quality products
- Market and User Insights: Conduct market research and gather user feedback to inform product decisions and improve user experience
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage with healthcare professionals and pharma clients to incorporate feedback into product development
- Go-to-Market Strategy: Develop and execute go-to-market strategies, creating compelling product positioning and messaging
- Innovation and Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends and continuously seek opportunities for innovation and improvement within the product line
Our take
BillionToOne is a precision diagnostics company. Its proprietary molecular counting platform (Quantitative Counting Templates) accurately counts DNA molecules at the single-count level, which has the ability to significantly improve disease detection. While initially focused on prenatal screening and oncological liquid biopsies, the company’s QTC technology is highly scalable and has the ability to make vast improvements to a range of disease detection verticals.
The company’s funding efforts will enable it to focus on further development and commercialization of its noninvasive prenatal screening test and oncology products. However, it will need to maintain a strategic outlook, prioritizing areas with higher testing frequencies in order to provide maximum patient benefit, while balancing test development costs.
BillionToOne has an important role to play in improving healthcare equity. As more promising peer-reviewed research studies are conducted and providers have increased confidence in the company’s tests, BillionToOne has significant growth potential.
