Role
Who you are
- 5-7 years of experience in lifecycle marketing, with a strong background in consumer mobile apps, ideally in fintech
- Proven track record in developing and executing lifecycle marketing strategies across email, push, and in-app messaging channels
- Experience with Braze or similar ESP platforms
- Familiarity with tax-related products is a HUGE plus

- April is on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager to play a pivotal role in our growth
- This is more than just a marketing job—this is an opportunity to be the expert, the go-to strategist, and a trusted partner to our clients as they embark on marketing tax products to their customer base for the first time
- You’ll have the chance to shape how our innovative tax products—Filer, Estimator, and Paycheck Optimizer—reach and engage taxpayers, all while building strong, lasting relationships with several leading fintech and financial services companies
- In this strategically important role, you’ll split your time between crafting cutting-edge lifecycle marketing playbooks and working hands-on with our partners to ensure these strategies are successfully implemented
- Your influence will extend beyond strategy development; you'll be instrumental in helping our clients manage their internal stakeholders, advocate for airtime for tax marketing, and navigate the complexities of launching a new product category
- Take the lead in creating robust playbooks for email, push notifications, and in-app messaging that drive the launch of the Filer, Estimator, and Paycheck Optimizer products
- Develop and own retargeting strategies and execution plans, with a strong emphasis on using Braze or similar platforms
- Regularly update and refine marketing strategies to ensure they align with evolving product value propositions
- Focus on driving key KPIs, such as product adoption rates and campaign start rates, to measure and ensure success
- Be the trusted advisor to lifecycle marketing teams at large fintech and financial services companies, providing hands-on guidance to ensure the successful adoption of our marketing playbooks
- Help clients navigate their internal processes, manage stakeholders, and advocate effectively for the importance of tax marketing within their organizations
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with partners, ensuring they see you as an essential resource in their marketing efforts
Our take
Managing tax payments is a highly stressful and time-consuming process, with taxpayers having to track their earnings and calculate claimable expenditures, whilst navigating convoluted tax codes. Whilst tax-paying software makes this process easier, they still require manual data entry and tax code lookups, preventing the tools from being automated.
April provides an all-in-one platform for automated tax filing, aiming to streamline tax preparation, maximize tax refunds, and ensure seamless and on-time returns for its users. The company achieves this by integrating its software tools directly within the financial applications of its users, tracking their earnings and expenditures, learning individual tax scenarios, and ultimately ensuring that refunds are accurate without requiring extensive manual data entry.
Whilst many other fintech companies are developing tools that aim to make tax filing easier, April currently stands out with its approach to integrating within existing software, identifying the implications this has for automated data entry. The company is well-funded and has been investing in accelerating research and development as well as the expansion of its operations. It also recently bolstered its leadership team, in preparation for its next "chapter of growth".
