- 4+ years of quota carrying software or technology account management experience

What the job involves
- The SMB Account Management team at Plaid works closely with our early stage companies that have grown the fastest on our platform
- You will be responsible for managing a high-velocity book of business, leveraging high-volume communication channels to support your many customers
- The Account Management team acts as partners, advisors, and advocates for our customers. By leveraging deep technical, product, and industry knowledge, we help our customers build and scale amazing applications that become the future of fintech
- Plaid is looking for customer-facing professionals to manage and grow Plaid’s relationships with high-growth SMB customers.
- You will be the primary point of contact for your customers and will work with them on all stages of integrations, scaling, driving adoption, product expansion, and account management
- You will be responsible for working directly with key stakeholders ranging from developers to executives to help them create the applications that will empower businesses and consumers with their financial data
- Own the overall relationship with your portfolio of customers in our fastest growing customer segment
- Build relationships with the C-Suite and Product teams to retain and grow revenue
- Own revenue targets, which includes identifying and closing new upsell opportunities and leading commercial negotiations for contract renewals
- Help customers integrate and launch on Plaid
- Solve complex customer challenges through creative problem solving by working cross-functionally with Sales, Risk, Legal, Finance, Commercial, Marketing, and Business Operations
Our take
Plaid builds infrastructure that allows a consumer to interact with their bank account on the web through a number of third-party applications, like Venmo, Robinhood, Coinbase, Acorns and LendingClub.
Plaid has integrated with 12,000 financial institutions in the US, Canada, the UK and Europe. About a quarter of people living in North America with bank accounts have linked with Plaid through at least one of the hundreds of apps that leverage Plaid’s application program interfaces (APIs). The platform allows companies to create financial services applications without having to hire their own team of engineers to build out a tool that connects apps to its users’ bank accounts.
This is very valuable in a world where there are increasing number of fintechs, so the demand for Plaid's services are only going to grow. Despite its strong position, it has not been immune to the difficult global economic situtation and was forced to restructure at the end of 2022, laying off some of its workforce. However it is still experiencing growth and is well-positioned to weather the current economic uncertainty.
