Role
Who you are
- Pursuing Bachelors or MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Prior experience or coursework related to microelectronics
- Familiar with I2C, SPI, UART, USB, and Ethernet interface design
- Proficient with lab tools such as bench power supplies, multimeter, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, and soldering station
- Strong background in EE fundamentals - Analog and Digital circuits
- Familiar with EE CAD tools - Altium, orCAD, etc
- Familiar with scripting languages; Python preferred
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
What the job involves
- Own board bringup and automated board testing
- Collaborate with the design team to prepare test plans based on design requirements and specifications
- Ensure all key functions and edge cases are covered in the test plan
- Write, debug, and optimize test scripts for automated board testing
- Coordinate with software team to ensure seamless integration and operation
- Use tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers for troubleshooting
- Perform root cause analysis and work collaboratively with the team to resolve them
- Maintain detailed documentation of test findings and resolved issues
Our take
Autonomous vehicle technology is rapidly developing and many sectors are recognizing its value. However, whilst the self-driving industry has made significant advancements there is much more that can be done. There are challenges in this space surrounding scale and developing commercially viable self-driving technology.
Waabi hopes to tackle these challenges and be the leader in self-driving technology with their "AI first approach". The company said that combined with a closed-loop simulator, this approach will allow both common driving scenarios and safety-critical edge cases to be tested at scale - solving one of the key issues in the industry.
Waabi has a growing partnership with Volvo too, with is a major boost for its future. The two companies have co-developed a new Volvo VNL Autonomous truck that pairs VOlvo's purpose-built autonomy platform with Waabi's end-to-end AI driving system, sensors, and compute. Volvo has also backed Waabi financially through its venture arm, giving Waabi both manufacturing support and long-term investment. Toget, erhjtis puts Waabi in a position to scale and move towards fully driverless trucking quicker.
