Who you are
- 3+ years of experience in business development, partnership management, or a related field within the payments industry
- Solid understanding of the payments landscape, with specific knowledge of card scheme regulations, products, and partnership models (Visa, Mastercard, etc.)
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of successful negotiation and deal closure
- Ability to think strategically and develop creative solutions to complex business challenges
- Good analytical skills with the ability to track, analyze, and interpret data to inform decision-making
- Highly motivated and results-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for driving growth
What the job involves
- The Senior Specialist, Scheme GTM Partnerships plays a critical role within our Global Partnerships team, driving business development and revenue growth through strategic collaborations with major payment schemes (e.g. , Visa, Mastercard, American Express)
- This role is responsible for developing and executing go-to-market (GTM) strategies with these key partners, fostering deep relationships with regional and local scheme representatives, and ultimately driving adoption of Checkout.com solutions across our core commercial pillars
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify key scheme partners and prioritize opportunities based on Checkout.com's strategic objectives
- Collaborate with scheme partners to develop comprehensive GTM plans encompassing joint marketing initiatives, sales enablement programs, and co-selling activities
- Lead negotiations with scheme partners to establish mutually beneficial commercial terms, ensuring alignment with Checkout.com's revenue goals and risk appetite
- Oversee the day to day management of scheme partners, ensuring smooth sales operations and ongoing relationship management
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (Sales, Account Management, Product) to promote Checkout.com solutions within the scheme partner ecosystem and drive adoption among their clients
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to scheme partnerships, providing regular reports to leadership and identifying areas for optimization
- Serve as a key point of contact for scheme partners, representing Checkout.com at industry events and fostering strong relationships within the payments ecosystem
