Who you are

3+ years of experience managing or leading technical teams; 7+ years of hands-on software or infrastructure engineering
Expertise in storage technologies such as Ceph, Lustre, MinIO, GPUDirect Storage, or similar distributed/cloud storage systems
Expertise building automation systems for large scale distributed systems
Strong understanding of performance tuning, data durability, fault tolerance, and replication techniques
Experience working in high-scale, low-latency environments (preferably in cloud, HPC, or AI/ML infrastructure contexts)
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and leadership teams
Proven ability to attract, retain, and grow world-class engineering talent

What the job involves

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to play a key role in designing, building, and operating our high-performance storage automation platform
You will contribute to the evolution of CoreWeave’s storage platform by building cloud scale systems that deliver reliable, scalable, and automated solutions
This role involves close collaboration with engineering teams across infrastructure, compute, and platform to ensure our storage services meet the needs of the world’s most demanding AI workloads
Build a world class engineering team by hiring and developing the best talent in the industry
Have curiosity and hunger to solve very hard system level problems in order to run the world's most demanding and advanced AI workloads
Lead the design and implement storage solutions to support CoreWeave’s growing AI and cloud infrastructure needs
Contribute to the development of exabyte-scale, S3-compatible object storage and integrate dedicated storage clusters into diverse customer environments
Work with technologies such as RDMA, GPU Direct Storage, SPDK, and distributed filesystems to optimize storage performance and efficiency
Participate in efforts to improve the reliability, durability, and observability of our storage stack
Collaborate with operations teams to monitor, troubleshoot, and improve storage systems in production environments
Help develop metrics and dashboards to provide visibility into storage performance and health
Analyze telemetry and system data to drive improvements in throughput, latency, and resilience
Work cross-functionally with platform, product, and infrastructure teams to deliver seamless storage capabilities across the stack
Manage relationships and technical roadmaps with strategic vendors

Our take

Many cloud service providers can suffer from slow prediction speeds when they are used for data modeling. CoreWeave solves this problem with its specialized cloud service provider.

CoreWeave reduces prediction times and makes service requests faster and more efficient. This, in turn, cuts cloud costs considerably. This has proven to be a strong draw for many companies, with CoreWeave signing a lucrative partnership with GPU heavyweight NVIDIA as well as partnering with BitOoda, which has allowed it to expand its operations to the financial market.

However, in 2023 it closed three very significant rounds of funding (Series B and debt and secondary extensions), which is being invested into expanding its US-based data centers, opening two new ones in the coming year. The question remains whether, despite 2023's big investments in the sector, CoreWeave can maintain this momentum and whether generative AI's stock will continue to rise.
