Who you are
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred
- 8+ years of progressive experience in legal operations
- Demonstrated expertise in legal technology implementation and optimization
- Strong understanding of contract management processes and systems
- Experience supporting legal operations in a public company environment, including familiarity with SEC compliance, corporate governance, and regulatory reporting requirements
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Strategic mindset with proven ability to drive organizational change
- Experience in high-growth technology environments preferred

- We’re looking for a Legal Operations Analyst II with proven experience supporting corporate legal teams within a SaaS or software company
- Lead Tekion’s legal operations function and drive strategic initiatives to optimize the legal department’s efficiency, effectiveness, and business impact
- In this senior leadership role, you'll develop and implement comprehensive operational strategies, oversee contract lifecycle management, lead litigation operations, establish department-wide metrics and KPIs, and manage the legal technology stack
- You'll collaborate with cross-functional leadership to align legal operations with broader business objectives while building and mentoring a high-performing legal operations team

- Strategic leadership – Develop and implement comprehensive legal operations strategy aligned with business objectives; serve as key member of legal leadership team; advise General Counsel on operational improvements and technology investments
- Contract lifecycle management – Design and oversee enterprise-wide contract management processes; implement and optimize CLM technology; establish governance frameworks; develop playbooks and templates; lead cross-functional initiatives to streamline contracting
- Litigation and risk management – Develop and oversee litigation management strategy; establish case assessment frameworks; implement legal hold processes; oversee insurance claims; develop risk mitigation strategies
- Metrics and performance management – Design and implement comprehensive KPI framework for legal department; develop executive dashboards; analyze performance trends; identify improvement opportunities; present metrics to leadership
- Financial management – Oversee legal department budget planning and forecasting; manage outside counsel spend; implement alternative fee arrangements; develop cost-saving initiatives; collaborate with finance on accruals and reporting
- Technology and innovation – Lead evaluation, selection and implementation of legal technology solutions; develop legal tech roadmap; drive adoption of automation tools; identify emerging technologies to enhance department capabilities
- Public company readiness – Develop and implement legal operations infrastructure to support public company readiness; establish processes and systems for SEC compliance and reporting; create governance frameworks; design and implement disclosure controls and procedures; build scalable operations to support post-IPO requirements
Our take
Car dealerships suffer from an inefficiency problem. The paperwork and administration required to complete a sale requires dealers to manage a disjointed set of various software applications. Tekion is offering an enticing remedy - a cloud-based automotive retail system that integrates the various software applications in a single infrastructure.
Competition has been strong, with rivals CDK Global and Reynolds & Reynolds offering a competitive raft of features, and benefiting from strong prior relationships with dealerships. Tekion, however, has nevertheless secured customers for the software in 28 states - likely in part due to the efficiency of partnering with a single growing service as opposed to a disparate spread.
This momentum shows no signs of slowing either, as Tekion has attracted attention from major players like CMC, Chrysler, and Chevrolet. By streamlining dealership operations into a single platform, the company is proving that even in a crowded market, innovation and simplicity can win over both dealers and industry partners.
