- A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field with significant prior experience in data science or machine learning roles
- Expert in SQL who can navigate and analyze complex data structures
- Proficient with dashboarding/data visualization tools
- Proficient with Python and able to write big data pipelines for ETL and modeling (Spark/Airflow/etc) as well as modern tools and frameworks for building and managing ML pipelines
- Familiarity with data lakes and data warehousing concepts
- Expert in experimental design and analysis
- Strong background in NLP and text mining, with experience in topic modeling
What the job involves
- As a Data Scientist at Workstream, you will leverage your deep expertise in Python, SQL, and machine learning (ML) to push forward our data-driven product initiatives. You will be working closely with our product teams to help them understand our customers needs and drive growth through innovation and data insights
- You will be building and maintaining ML pipelines to enhance our product offerings and customer experience. Your role is critical in synthesizing complex multi-product data into actionable insights, directly influencing our strategic direction and product development
- Be the champion for a data-driven culture at Workstream
- Participate in end-to-end business intelligence and ML projects from requirement scoping to rolling out clean, well-produced user-facing products and internal dashboards that inform business decisions
- Conduct advanced analyses to uncover insights that inform product development and strategy
- Design, build, and maintain ML pipelines, with a strong focus on NLP, text mining, and recommender systems to support product innovation
- Engage in continuous learning and development to stay ahead of the latest trends in data science and machine learning
- Adopt industry best practices and tools to work efficiently at scale

Recruiting new staff can be a time-consuming process for HR teams; requiring them to source, screen, and communicate with every potential candidate. Whilst the process has been made easier through online job boards, this has only led to larger pools of potential candidates, putting further pressure on the workload of recruiters.
Workstream provides an hourly worker recruitment platform, focused on automating digital communication and application management with candidates to reduce workloads for recruitment teams. The platform also allows users to post open roles to over 25,000 job boards at once, in addition to automating all paperwork workflows.
Whilst the prevalence of smart recruitment platforms will present difficult competition for Workstream, the company shows the potential to disrupt the market with its automated communication, paperwork, and mass job posting capabilities. It continues to launch new products and features - such as its multilingual and customizable AI chatbot - and has raised strong capital to support accelerated expansion and the broadening of product development.
