Role
Who you are
- 2 to 5 years of professional experiences in software development with a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or math
- Developed and deployed software that has been used in real-world applications and projects
- Solid fundamental knowledge of computer architecture and networks
- Excellent skills in Golang or Python
- Good knowledge of APIs; experience with GraphQL and gRPC is especially appreciated
- Experience with IoT technologies (MQTT, etc.)
- Good knowledge of databases SQL and noSQL. Ideally: Elasticsearch, SQLite, PostgresSQL, InfluxDB
- Git workflow and Docker is your daily routine
- Efficient, learn fast, work fast
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French (if possible)
- Rigorous and proactive mindset
- Ability to manage unexpected events with tight deadlines
- You have a passion for code and programming, you generalize concepts quickly, you always strive for clean code and understand how users will use/abuse your apps
- You are always eager to learn more and work in an innovative mindset
- You must have excellent skills in programming (Golang and Python preferred), strong experience in building APIs and in designing comprehensive software architectures
- Having experience and knowledge in data engineering will be a real plus

- Develop tools that allow for test execution across multiple environments: from virtualized hardware to real hardware-in-the-loop testing
- Lead the backend development of our applications
- Continuous enhancement of the software architecture
- Responsible for the code quality
- Deployment in a production environment
Our take
Biofarming involves the farming of plants for biologically active ingredients, such as might be used in medicines or beauty products. The conventional approach to sourcing such materials often involves chemicals that harm the planet, so Interstellar Lab steps up to address this silent yet significant issue.
At the heart of Interstellar Lab's mission is the BioPod, a contraption that redefines cultivation practices by accelerating production cycles, enhancing the yield of bioactive compounds in the plants it grows. What sets the product apart is its potential for deployment beyond our planet, though for now the company's target is the beauty industry.
The company has raised substantial funding and earned a grant from NASA, as well as a place in the L’Oréal's Green Sciences Incubator programme. Thus, Interstellar Lab is placed to play a pivotal role in the future of ingredient sourcing. It has also partnered with Vast to integrate its Eden 1.0 plant research capsule aboard the Haven-1 commercial space station.
