Role
Who you are
- Master's degree in Computer Science, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in professional full stack engineering with significant frontend ownership
- Expert knowledge of Vue.js 3, including Composition API and related state management
- Advanced CSS capabilities including responsive design, using Tailwind, Material UI.Deep understanding of frontend architecture, scalable code design, and performance optimization
- Competence in REST API integration, asynchronous fetch patterns, and modern ECMAScript standards (ES6+).Strong backend development and API design skills with Node.js
- Proven experience in implementing and troubleshooting WebSocket-based real-time communication architectures
- Familiarity with Git workflows, code reviews, and collaborative development best practices
Desirable
- Kubernetes experience, particularly in container orchestration and deployments
- Automated testing knowledge (unit, integration, e2e) using frameworks like Jest or Cypress and visual testing automation using Playwright, Storybook
- Background in data visualization or real-time streaming applications
- Prior work in B2B SaaS or industrial IoT domains
What the job involves
- We are looking for a key contributor to the applications of the Outsight Shift product suite
- Our Product Ecosystem includes:Real-time 3D monitoring of digital twins of the space monitored by our LiDAR systemsLive analytics and reporting applicationsDecisions support insights to assist our users in managing their key people and vehicle flows
- You will help structure our application and frontend foundations to scale effectively as our product capabilities grow, with a strong focus on design, performance, usability, and maintainability
- You will work closely with our product managers, data engineers, and scientists to deliver intuitive and efficient user experiences
- Looking back on your first 12 months, you will have accomplished:
- Shaped the reference for a scalable frontend architecture, focusing on reusable components, state management, and code organization
- Developed several high-performance, cross-browser compatible UI components using advanced CSS, including responsive design
- Implemented rich and interactive visualizations to display our 3D real-time perception data
- Developed API endpoints to properly serve assets to our applicationsCollaborated with product managers to define best UXs for our different persona
- Established best practices and GenAI toolchains, coding standards, design system and tests automation to boost the development team
- Mentor junior developers, review code, and promote collaborative and high-quality deliveries
Our take
Outsight has combined the software assets of its parent company Dibotics with 3D sensor technology to create a LiDAR pre-processor designed to help make smarter, safer vehicles, and add spatial AI to buildings like stores and airports. Importantly, however, Outsight’s business model is focused on providing a simpler plug-and-play LiDAR solution, to close the gap between LiDAR early adopters and the mainstream market.
Helping more companies easily tap into LiDAR’s full situational awareness capabilities in our growing network of interconnected, smart environments is likely to prove a winning strategy for Outsight going forward. And already, the company has proven attractive to international clients across a number of highly lucrative fields including industrial automation, driverless cars, and drones.
Outsight has carved out a niche for itself, attracting a solid client base as the industry embraces new technologies. In a significant development, the company was acquired by Billups, a leading NYC-based OOH managed services agency, in a deal that expanded Billups' global presence to 16 countries. This acquisition strengthens Outsight's industrial edge and cloud application offerings, opening up exciting new opportunities for growth and innovation within the company.
