What the job involves

You'll be developing tools and pipelines related with web crawling and data generation using AI technology
The web crawling is set up through abstractions that make the configuration of new crawlers dynamic. This tooling is structured in a middleware infrastructure, using the Django Framework and a PostgreSQL database
Most of the tasks involve: using and developing APIs, data validation, serialization and persistence. All of the codebase is expected to have considerable test coverage and documentation

Smart Cities are on the rise, offering environmental, logistical and economic benefits. BABLE, a spin-off from Europe’s largest applied research institution, wants to support this. It provides management and consultancy services to connect cities with companies that can help them implement smart solutions.

There’s an increasing demand for urban planning and management solutions, many of which already exist - but perhaps didn’t get the right funding and support to scale properly. BABLE connects this supply and demand, offering value to both sides.

It’s an interesting niche to be filling. And, with the general push in Western countries to catch up with the smart city transformations of the East, BABLE is successfully tapping into a growing and possibly highly lucrative sector.
