Role
Who you are
- This role requires a proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience as a Corporate IT Lead, Specialist, or similar role
- Experience working with Google Workspace and workforce management systems
- Strong understanding of network protocols, security principles, and IT best practices
- Proficiency in system administration tasks on MacOS, Linux, and Windows operating systems
- Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Experience scaling IT infrastructure to support a fast-growing company, ideally from 100 to 1000 employees
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization
- Experience with Rippling's suite of products and/or relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator) are a plus
What the job involves
- We are looking for a skilled Corporate IT lead to support Writer’s rapid growth
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining Writer’s IT infrastructure, ensuring its efficiency, security, and reliability
- Administer and maintain IT infrastructure; including SaaS services, workstations, mobile devices, and employee onboarding/offboarding
- Implement, configure, and troubleshoot corporate systems management tools to streamline employee onboarding, offboarding, and access management processes
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls within Google Workspace, Google Cloud, HRIS and workforce management systems, ensuring compliance with company policies and security standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT-related projects and initiatives, providing technical expertise and guidance as needed
- Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard critical company data and ensure business continuity
- Stay up-to-date with trends and advancements in IT technology and security, recommending and implementing best practices to enhance our company's IT infrastructure
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to end-users, resolving IT-related issues in a timely and efficient manner
- Document IT procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps, maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date documentation for future reference

With the likes of high-exposure company Grammarly accelerating adoption of such tools, a flurry of startups have appeared to offer their own takes. Writer’s angle is to leverage AI as a means of standardizing and scaling both content and communications for business teams. The tool offers autofilling and inline suggestions that keep content aligned with pre-determined company language and style guides.
This branded fine-tuning function distinguishes it from full copy-generation competitors, as well as from Grammarly itself, which is a more generalist copyediting tool. It subsequently caters to major enterprise clients looking to maintain standards across multiple and sprawling teams, and the company has managed to net major clients like Deloitte, Twitter, UiPath, and Accenture.
While AI-related buzz remains solidly around generative AIs like ChatGPT and Bard, Writer's narrow target market - in which it has already found success - supplies plenty of scope to grow, as AI copyediting tools look set to rapidly become content industry standard. With continued new launches and updates to its offerings as well as an impressive $100 million Series B awarded in 2023, the company is well-placed to seek further success into the future.
