Role
Who you are
- The role will require significant experience and confidence in data analytics, SQL, and statistics
- We are looking for someone already skilled at analyzing complex data, asking the right questions, and validating their own work, as well as being capable of contributing to peer reviews and quality analysis of work produced by other team members
- Previous experience building customer-facing analytics products is preferred, but not required, for this role
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- 3+ years of industry experience in data analytics
- Strong SQL skills
- Proficiency in one or more data visualization tools (e.g., Sigma, Tableau, Power BI)
- Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL processes, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS)
- Familiarity with Agile workflows including ceremony requirements and tools (e.g., Jira) used to manage such workflow
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with complex datasets
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information into business recommendations
- Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with dbt is a plus
- Familiarity with Snowflake is a plus
- Experience in supply chain monitoring, optimization, and analysis is a plus
What the job involves
- As a Sr Data Analyst focused on building customer-facing analytics products at Tive, you will use your considerable experience to help lead Tive into its next phase of growth
- One of Tive’s primary focus areas for the next few years is on delivering actionable insights to our customers both about their own data and about the overall health and status of the global supply chain
- As a senior member of Tive’s global Data Team, you will be responsible for developing customer-facing products that achieve this goal
- Create advanced SQL models that can be incorporated into the data transformation pipeline that feeds Tive’s customer-facing analytics products
- Design and optimize embedded dashboards and reporting solutions using data visualization tools
- Be a vocal and active participant in Data Analytics team meetings including solutioning sessions and sprint planning
- Help the analytics team to prioritize work and groom Jira tickets in a way that allows their work velocity to be predictable
- Identify and drive opportunities for process improvements in team workflows
- Present complex findings in a clear and actionable manner to senior leadership and other stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and new technologies in data analytics
Our take
Traditionally, shipment tracking has been complicated, unreliable and expensive. Tive’s platform allows businesses to constantly track and update their supply chain to enable a dynamic and flexible approach to international commerce.
Tive’s system is based around sensors that accompany shipments, allowing real-time product tracking with data uploaded to the cloud. This system allows clients access to location, shipment integrity and climate status, allowing businesses to better understand how their products are shipped.
Tive serves customers across the shipping industry, a huge market that is still on the rise. This has fuelled its expansion, with the company already having clients ranging from consumer packaged goods, logistics, produce, and retail, including Alpine Fresh, Fastly, and Aviagen. $40 million in 2025 Series C funding will help Tive bring even more solutions to its growing customer base.
