Role
Who you are
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or unrelated field with analytical focus
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in credit risk management, ideally in SME or retail lending
- Strong understanding of programmatic/automated underwriting and portfolio management
- Proven experience in developing and implementing risk management strategies and policies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts effectively to internal/external stakeholders
- Willingness to work pragmatically and hands-on, without the need for strict hierarchies and processes that you would find in a traditional lender
- Fluency in English, basic working knowledge of German
What the job involves
- Report directly to our Co-Founder/Chief Risk Officer and work closely together with our diverse team of underwriters and analysts
- Manage our SME loan portfolio and monitor risk levels
- Develop and implement risk management models, working both conceptually and hands-on when needed
- Collaborate with our product and business development teams to develop new loan products
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including bank partners and rating agencies
Our take
Banking-as-a-service has allowed revolutionary banking products to offer financial services without the infrastructure of a bank. Furthermore, the development of open banking enacted regulations that would give any business consumer data, to allow fintechs to provide services and products that previously only banks could own. Most notable of these offerings are embedded financial services.

This allows any kind of online platform, including marketplaces and payment providers, to offer bank-like services, covering funding, trading, payments, loan management and bank account maintenance. This closes the gap that exists between fintechs and digital platforms with established banks by putting the customer first.
Companies like Banxware are essential for banks to be able to modernise and digitalise their services to serve a much wider customer base. Having raised multiple funding rounds and securing a strategic partnership with PAYONE (a market leader of payment services) and Agicap (a liquidity management and financial planning platform), Banxware looks to be continuing the expansion of its service offerings.
