Founding CTO, Sumus

• CTO – Must-Have Requirements for Sumus 🧠 Technical Expertise
• Strong experience in leading development of mobile-first products (iOS/Android/web), preferably in consumer tech or marketplaces
• Deep understanding of JavaScript frameworks — especially React / React Native
• Solid knowledge of backend architecture (Node.js, Python/Django, or similar)
• Proven ability to work with external development teams or dev agencies.
• Strong grasp of API integration — including third-party SDKs (e.g. Scandit, Google Maps, OpenAI)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS or GCP), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps fundamentals
• Experience with NoSQL or SQL databases (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Firebase, etc.). 🤖 AI & Data Fluency
• Understanding of AI/NLP integrations (especially with OpenAI) and prompt engineering basics
• Knowledge of how to design data flows between user input (e.g. barcode scans) and AI-powered outputs (e.g. health/sustainability scores)
• Experience or clear approach to working with ingredient parsing, toxicity databases, or similar logic layers (even if not built in-house). 💡 Startup/Product Leadership
• Proven track record of shipping MVPs under tight timelines

• We’re looking for a Founding CTO to architect, build, and scale the core tech — barcode scanning, AI scoring engine, location intelligence, backend, and beyond
• You’ll lead development, help us make the right early bets, and turn our vision into a product used by millions
• What You’ll Own:
• Full technical strategy + product architecture
• AI integration (ChatGPT / Scandit / data science)
• Barcode scanning + product ID system
• Geolocation and smart discovery UX
• Tech stack decisions (mobile + web)
• Building and leading the early dev team
• Collaborating directly with design, sustainability, and the CEO

• 8. Onboarding: The new CTO will undergo an onboarding process, including orientation, introduction to the team, and a review of the company's goals and roadmap for the MVP launch
