Who you are
- Be located in the Tri-State Area and have the ability to commute to the NY office in a hybrid setting
- Have 3-5 years of sales experience, with at least 2+ years of management/leadership experience
- Offer experience in B2B SaaS sales and sales management
- Have experience prospecting into various market segments and personas
- Have stellar problem-solving abilities, thrive working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and enjoy the challenge of making a large impact early on in a start-up environment
- Possess the technical competency to understand Vanta’s software, the intellectual curiosity to want to learn about the world of governance, risk and compliance, and to build great relationships with highly technical prospects who are willing to rethink the paradigm in how security is achieved, and to enhance and evolve their own security programs
What the job involves
- Our GTM team is currently looking for a Manager, Sales Development to join us!
- As our Manager, Sales Development, you’ll lead and support a team of highly motivated and ambitious Sales Development Representatives during a period of rapid-growth at Vanta
- These SDRs will be focused on the VMB, SMB and Enterprise segments of our NAMER business
- You’ll be integral in shaping our sales organization as we continue to scale, move up market, and distinguish Vanta as best-in-class to prospects in our rapidly growing category of security automation, with Vanta having created the category of automated compliance
- Manage and mentor a growing team of high performing Sales Development Representatives, providing them the tools, coaching, and support needed to deliver results for the business
- Evolve Vanta’s prospecting playbook by developing and implementing new prospecting initiatives and strategies that will increase deal sizes, resolve complex use cases, and drive more revenue to the company
- Grow the Sales Development team at Vanta, through active involvement in recruitment, on-boarding and training of new Sales Development Representatives
- Create and establish strategic prospecting training, conduct weekly forecasting meetings, and mentor your direct reports on strategies that can help create pipeline
- Help to continually foster an inclusive Sales organization representing Vanta’s culture and values
- Ensure development plans are in place, adapted to each individual, and made useful in a way that ensures the ongoing development of talent within the organization
- Collaborate cross functionally to drive better outcomes for Vanta’s prospects’ that have headquarters within NAMER
- Partner with sales leadership on creating an agile organization that believes in using decision frameworks to inform strategic direction but also isn’t afraid to launch, iterate, and redo in order to get the job done

The security auditing process is usually very time-consuming, taking hours to complete, and it is often difficult for start-ups to invest time into such a process. Yet, the benefits of security accreditation are enormous, mainly as many such businesses are working globally and need ways to demonstrate security compliance to one another. Vanta works specifically with start-ups to help them complete and pass security audits such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
The company is a compliance portal and security monitoring platform that businesses use to assess their risk levels. Vanta carries out a pre-audit of a company's digital security and highlights areas that need to be worked on before a full analysis of all threats is carried out. Other businesses such as Datadog or PagerDuty offer similar security monitoring services, but Vanta monitors its customers throughout the year, allowing any issues to be identified and addressed early on.
Vanta has found a valuable cybersecurity niche within the giant SaaS market. Companies such as Lattice, Clubhouse, and Calm are all customers, demonstrating a growing trend for companies to manage their cybersecurity proactively, which Vanta should be able to take advantage of to further grow and develop into the future.
