Staff Technical Program Manager, Aurora

• Experience managing hardware product validation with cross functional teams

• As an integral part of the Hardware Product Engineering Team, the Technical Program Manager (TPM) will be responsible for executing a broad range of planning, tracking, and management tasks to deliver Aurora’s key hardware designs
• TPMs must be relentless organizers and excellent cross-functional leaders across multiple teams throughout Aurora, as well as with external suppliers
• This position requires technical understanding of areas such as mechanical, electrical, embedded, validation, reliability, manufacturing and sustainment
• TPMs use their technical breadth to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from concept to product
• They work closely with engineers, technical program managers, New Product Introduction, and suppliers (CMs/ODMs/OEMs) to get key modules defined, built, tested and released on time to meet top-level program deliverables
• The TPM drives the detailed, bottoms-up engineering for key modules and developments that integrate into top-level, vehicle program objectives
• TPMS are responsible for developing and publishing consolidated schedules that balance engineering development risk with program requirements
• TPMs work with internal and external stakeholders to identify requirements, track risks, set appropriate check-points, and drive technical alignment
• In the tactical day-to-day development throughout the product life cycle, the TPM manages and communicates status, issues, and risks to, cross-functional partners and leadership across the company
• The TPM also supports the development strategies for multi-generational hardware developments
• Be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing execution of hardware product validation for the Aurora Driver Kit
• Provide functional support to the product integrity organization by providing them the structure and managing resource prioritization to meet hardware development milestones
• Lead planning, execution, and day-to-day developments for critical hardware product validation efforts
• Evaluate risks and communicate status to upper management and project stakeholders
• Engage and energize the project teams to achieve aggressive goals
• Ensure program documents, design reviews, design change documentation, and risk analyses like FMEA are complete, current and available for key hardware developments
• Manage cross-functional efforts for hardware validation and risk mitigation to balance schedule, cost, and quality
• Instill an efficient program management mindset by introducing tools or processes that could support: workflows, decision-making, change management, schedule adherence, roles and responsibilities clarification, communication plans, action tracking, budget tracking
• Partner with multiple cross-functions including, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Software, Manufacturing, Hardware Safety Engineering, and Global Supply Management (GSM)
• Provide program management support for hardware sustainment issues, including; root cause analysis, containment and corrective action implementation, management of testing/inspection, and logistic support
• Provide program management support for closing out the hardware product safety case
