Who you are

  • 2+ years of professional C++ software development experience and using development tools such as GIT, JIRA, and CI/CD systems
  • Experience developing software on based Linux systems, including knowledge of system utilities and basic configuration
  • Experience with software infrastructure fundamentals including networking, security, and distributed systems
  • Ability to quickly learn and implement new technologies and frameworks
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and produce detailed technical documentation
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD security clearance

Desirable

  • Experience with configuration Linux operating systems and Linux kernel development
  • Experience working with a variety of programming languages such as C, Rust, Python, etc
  • Familiarity in graphics programming or image processing
  • Experience in connectivity and high-performance networking software development
  • Can test and debug firmware on hardware platforms
  • Any experience in Nix/NixOS is a big plus

What the job involves

  • We are seeking a talented and motivated Realtime Software Engineer to join our team
  • You will implement and deploy the core real-time image processing software of our infrared imaging systems
  • Your work will be essential to ensuring we can quickly field new technologies to embedded and SWAP-limited hardware, scale quickly, and securely integrate into the complex defense systems
  • Apply your experience configuration Linux based operating systems and developing terminal-based software
  • Become an expert in Nix and NixOS and help define and implement NixOS based embedded systems
  • Gain a deep understanding of our unique infrared sensor systems and our existing image processing software
  • Contribute to the development of real-time, high-bandwidth processing pipelines in C++ and/or CUDA
  • Define and implement test and simulation environments, incorporating both software- and hardware-in-the-loop methodologies
  • Support end-to-end system delivery, from initial design to manufacturing, deployment, and sustainment
  • Work with a multi-disciplinary team on challenging problems in a fast-paced environment

Our take

Anduril makes hardware and software for defense agencies including the Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security. Its hardware products include specialist drones with a long flight time and surveillance towers.

This hardware is tied together by proprietary software, the Lattice platform, which uses sensor fusion, machine learning, and mesh networking to integrate real-time data from Anduril hardware and third-party systems into a single, autonomous operating picture. While the hardware observes and detects, the software can make decisions as to the threat level of any anomalies, and so allow for observation and protection of an area or building with minimal manpower.

Anduril closed a Series E funding round in 2022 led by Valor Equity Partners. This funding was used for research and development of its autonomous defense products, such as the Roadrunner, a modular twin-jet powered autonomous vehicle that can take off and land vertically. Variants of the Roadrunner include defensive warhead armed interceptors which are the first drone weapons that can be retrieved after deployment. The company has also expanded to Australia where it is working in tandem with the Australian Defence Force to improve its military technology and infrastructure and is recruiting talent worldwide to support its rapidly growing portfolio of defense projects.
