- Bachelors degree
- 7+ years of business development experience specializing in the sale of payment processing solutions/financial services
- Proven experience in selling payment processing solutions/ financial services
- Deep understanding of sales systems to support successful sales delivery
- Curiosity, a can-do attitude and willingness to continually learn
- Efficient multi-tasker and ability to work & deliver under pressure
- Proficiency in CRM tools including Freshsales
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills
- Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
- Excellent people and relationship management skills, including leading a team
- Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment and can easily
- Ability to adapt to new and challenging projects
- Ability to influence others and create a sense of urgency for your cause

What the job involves
- Flutterwave is looking for a Manager, Business Development for the UK, who will manage and oversee the growth and expansion of the company’s operations in the assigned region from conceptualization to implementation in the designated local market and offerings in line with best practices and regulatory standards
- Meet and/or exceed sales quotas by engaging with prospects and setting up high quality meetings that lead to quality pipeline and revenue
- Utilise lead generation tools available for outreach to source leads via outbound prospecting
- Make contact with potential new customers across a variety of channels - phone, email, social, chat
- Initiating the sales cycle right from lead generation to go live
- Ensure effective management of relationships with key merchants (enterprise businesses)
- Develop and maintain a robust and enterprise focused pipeline deals in CRM (Freshsales)
- Ensure that customer complaints are investigated and promptly resolved across all channels
- Review sales performance against set budgets on a periodic basis and recommend action plans for improvement
- Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly/yearly sales reports for management's review
- Act on behalf of; and perform any other duties that may be assigned by management
- Maintain expert knowledge in the use cases and benefits of Flutterwave’s offerings and how they impact each user in an organisation
- Support in creation of sales messaging, follow up, and presentations to customer and prospect accounts
- Develop creative ways and ideas for reaching and engaging with prospect personas
- Ensure personal information of customers, employees, and other individuals the company conducts business with is processed and protected in line with applicable data privacy policies, privacy laws, and global best practices

As a continent, Africa has a fragmented payment system. Even though African countries had their own payment systems, none of these solutions could interoperate with each other and allow users to make and receive payments across international borders.
Flutterwave offers the solution, an Africa-wide payments infrastructure to connect all payment types in the continent and bring a single-use payment solution to any merchant or small business. It allows business owners to accept payments from customers anywhere.
In 2020, the company processed more than 80 million transactions (worth over $7 billion) across 17 African countries. When COVID-19 lockdowns hit brick-and-mortar businesses in Africa, Flutterwave was able to quickly set up digital storefronts for 20,000 users, in a free promotion they called “keeping the lights on”.
In 2021, Flutterwave collaborated with PayPal, allowing African merchants to accept payments across the continent from more than 300 million PayPal users. In 2023, its Engineering Mobility Program in collaboration with Capgemini in Bangalor aims to nurture the next generation of Indian tech workers, indicating Flutterwave's widening market scope.
