What the job involves
- To collect debtor invoices efficiently whilst maintaining best customer service practice
- Maximize cash flow and minimize bad debt
- The successful applicant should be able to work under pressure towards monthly targets and strict deadlines
- You will communicate with customers in writing, by telephone
- Must be computer literate and able to deal with allocated ledgers but also work as part of a team
- Sole responsibility of collection of overdue invoices on approximately 500 accounts
- Chase late payments from customers (via phone and email) to ensure all customer invoices are settled in accurately and on time
- Liaising with customers and resolving issues
- Take all reasonable steps to limit the extent of bad debts
- Maintenance of the credit control system, keeping customers information up to date (NetSuite)
- Ensuring risk accounts are escalated to the credit control manager
- Ensure adherence with the company’s credit control policy
- Creating invoice disputes on database and assigning to appropriate staff member in sales/ account management team
- Taking invoices out of dispute when resolved and pressing for payment
- Build strong working relationships with both our customers and our account management/revenue team
- Assisting cash application team to ensure receipts are applied correctly and there is no cash on account
- Maximizing collections by achieving cash target
- Performing other sundry tasks as requested by line manager
