- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science,
- 10+ years of professional engineering experience. At least 7 years of full time IC work and at least 3 years of hands on people management experience
- Experience that involves performance management, mentoring, and career growth
- Demonstrable project management experience across multiple teams
- Experience working cross-functionally with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience at early or growth-stage companies
Desirable
- Experience in customer-focused engineering

What the job involves
- Within the Provider Clinical Quality team, we build tools to support both therapists and Rula’s Clinical Quality team, enabling therapists to deliver high-quality care with ease
- Our projects span from designing intuitive user experiences that enhance therapists' daily productivity to developing data-driven ML integrations that elevate the standard of care
- We are seeking a mission-driven Engineering Manager to lead the Provider Clinical Quality team in delivering impactful projects that improve care quality
- In this role, you will guide a small team of passionate engineers, fostering collaboration across Rula’s engineering teams to build technologies that drive better care outcomes
Our take
More than half of adults in the US will be diagnosed with a mental illness during their lifetime, and yet inaccessibility of treatment remains a huge problem. That’s what Rula aims to solve, with its platform that matches users to therapists that are covered by their insurance.
The company, formerly known as Path, is partnered with a number of major health insurers, including UnitedHealthcare and Anthem, making it an accessible service for millions of Americans. It allows users to browse therapists almost instantly, with just a short questionnaire to fill in before their matches are shown.
Though the market for tech services offering mental health provision is an overstuffed one, containing giants like BetterHelp as well as newer competitors, Rula's partnerships with insurers do mark it out against the crowd. The business has been steadily growing, and significantly bolstered its executive team in 2023. Its recent rebrand was designed to emphasize its vision to improve not only access to mental health care, but also clinical outcomes.
