Role
Who you are
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related hard science discipline
- Demonstrable ML/AI experience — academic, personal projects, or ideally deployed industry models
- Strong Python skills and solid software engineering fundamentals (testing, version control, CI/CD)
- Proficiency with the core ML stack: NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, and DL PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX
- Experience designing and running rigorous evaluations and ablations
- Data handling skills with SQL and at least one modern data store
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Writes clean, maintainable, well-tested code
- Good software engineering principles
Desirable
- LLMs and foundation models: fine-tuning, RAG, prompt engineering, evaluation
- MLOps: Docker, orchestration tools, feature stores, experiment tracking, model serving
- Cloud platforms: AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Applied mathematics: optimization, probability, statistics
- Graph/data systems: PostgreSQL, Neo4j, vector databases
- Agents and tool use (e.g. MCP, multi-provider LLM integrations)
- Web/service development: REST, FastAPI, authentication, observability
- Privacy, security, and responsible AI practices
What the job involves
- As an AI Engineer, you’ll work at the intersection of research and engineering to bring cutting-edge machine learning into production. You’ll translate ideas into reliable, scalable systems, working in a small cross-functional team that includes researchers, data specialists, and software engineers
- You’ll report to the Head of Machine Learning and be a part of end-to-end ML initiatives — from scoping and data pipelines to modeling, deployment, and monitoring
- Deliver applied ML/AI solutions from data to deployment — with scientific rigor and tangible product impact
