Role
Who you are
- Extensive post-qualification experience in commercial, contract, IT, cyber security and technology law
- Fully qualified lawyer (Zweites Staatsexamen) in Germany
- Full written and spoken professional working proficiency in German & English
- Strong experience in contract drafting, negotiation, DORA and regulatory compliance
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams on complex, multi-jurisdictional projects
- Highly structured, able to navigate a fast-paced environment, and comfortable dealing with ambiguity
What the job involves
- We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Legal Counsel with an IT & Technology specialism to join our team
- In this role, you will provide strategic legal advice across commercial and contractual matters, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while supporting high-profile, cross-functional projects
- You will be a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, balancing legal risk with commercial goals
- You'll review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts with vendors, suppliers, and other third-party partners, particularly in relation to our fully digital investment platform, IT content, and IT services
- Provide input on regulatory questions and projects with regard to MiFID, DORA, WpHG, WpIG and KAGB
- Provide legal advice on commercial and contractual issues across the Moonfare Group business, helping navigate complex legal and regulatory matters
- Support and improve contract processes from a regulatory perspective, ensuring timely and compliant delivery
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders within Moonfare Group to understand needs and build strong, trust-based partnerships
- Analyse current legal and contract management processes and develop automated solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Work alongside Compliance, DPO, and IT Security on vendor onboarding and data protection matters
- Assist in resolving contract disputes and contribute to protecting the company’s brand and reputation
- Maintain and update template documentation, while monitoring and sharing developments in relevant areas of law
Our take
Many high-level investment opportunities are solely reserved for financial institutions. This means that top-tier equity funds are completely out of reach for most private investors. Moonfare solves this problem by giving individuals access to institution-level investing.
Moonfare's platform allows investors to participate in funding rounds offered by some of the biggest investing companies, including The Carlyle Group and Tiger Global. The company offers investment opportunities with investment minimums as low as €50,000, which is about 100x less than the traditional minimum. So, while not everyone can afford to make investments through the company, a much larger pool of people have the ability to enter private markets.
Moonfare is headed up by an impressive team of KKR, BlackRock, Amazon and J.P. Morgan alums, which adds significant credibility to its product. The platform has also grown considerably since launching and more recently partnered with Fundcraft to enhance its digital infrastructure, automate fund administration, KYC, and capital call processes. This integration enables eligible investors to register and invest directly online in minutes, an exciting feat which will surely catch the eye of many investors.
