Role
Who you are
- We are currently seeking a Senior Backend Software Developer with expert-level experience in .NET and C# development, particularly in building robust backend systems and APIs
- The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with healthcare data interchange formats, including HL7 and FHIR, which are highly desirable for integration into our healthcare-focused applications
- This role requires a deep understanding of backend technologies and best practices, along with a commitment to delivering high-quality, secure, and compliant software solutions
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred
- Previous professional experience in backend software development with expertise in .NET and C#
- Proven experience designing and implementing APIs
- Strong understanding of the .NET ecosystem, OOP principles, and multi-threading
- Experience with HL7, FHIR, or other healthcare industry data exchange standards is highly desirable
- Proficiency in databases (SQL Server, MySQL, etc.) and performing complex queries
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Excellent communication and project management skills
Desirable
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git
- Knowledge of additional backend technologies and frameworks
- Prior experience in the healthcare industry, particularly with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Experience in a lead or senior developer role managing or guiding a team
- Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines
What the job involves
- Design and develop backend services and APIs using .NET and C#
- Lead the integration of backend systems with external services and applications via APIs
- Ensure high performance and responsiveness of all backend functions
- Implement secure data handling, validation, and transmission practices
- Work closely with front-end developers and other team members to meet system requirements
- Spearhead the adoption and implementation of HL7 and FHIR standards within the company’s ecosystem
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers
- Optimize existing systems for scalability and speed
- Manage database design and querying with an emphasis on performance and security
- Conduct code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure robust and error-free deployment
- Document development processes and adhere to industry best practices in software development

- Depending on the nature of the role a Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check may also be required along with further vetting checks like SC and NPPV3
