Who you are
- 12+ years of experience in product management, sales, or customer success, with a strong emphasis on enterprise software and direct customer interaction
- Proven track record of leveraging customer insights to drive product strategy and growth
- Demonstrated experience in managing and developing product teams, including hiring, performance management, and career development
- Experience with financial planning and budget management for a product line or business unit
- Exceptional customer engagement, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration abilities
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Master's preferred)
What the job involves
- We are seeking a highly customer-centric VP, Product to spearhead our Enterprise product business
- Reporting to the Chief Product & Technology Officer, your primary focus will be deeply understanding and addressing the needs of our enterprise customers to drive product strategy and growth
- You will dedicate approximately 70% of your time engaging directly with customers to gather insights, build relationships, and ensure our solutions deliver exceptional value
- You will lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing team across various functions, including product management, engineering, marketing, and sales, with a strong emphasis on translating customer feedback into impactful product development and market strategies
- You will also be responsible for managing the financial budget for the Enterprise product line, ensuring optimal resource allocation and ROI
- Spend approximately 70% of your time engaging directly with enterprise customers to understand their challenges, needs, and opportunities
- Translate customer insights into a compelling strategic vision and roadmap for the Enterprise product line
- Drive revenue growth and customer satisfaction within the enterprise segment through customer-centric product development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team across various functions, fostering a customer-first mindset and ensuring their professional growth
- Oversee and manage the financial budget for the Enterprise product line, including forecasting, resource allocation, and expense tracking to achieve business objectives
- Collaborate closely with sales and marketing to define go-to-market strategies informed by deep customer understanding
- Ensure the successful delivery and adoption of enterprise products that solve key customer problems and deliver significant value
Our take
Vimeo was founded by filmmakers who wanted an efficient way to share videos with others. It is more creator-oriented than YouTube, with professional software, technology, and tools for creators to produce, share, and sell their videos.
In 2007, it became the first online video sharing site to support HD playback for consumers, updating to 4K playback in 2016. Vimeo's app has also been updated to allow recording and live streaming as well as watching video. This service is aimed predominantly at enterprise customers although they have millions of small-time users too.
Vimeo has risen to become the world's biggest ad-free open video platform, with significant funding that has allowed it to expand operations and build up the business. Recently, however, the company has found itself struck by the effects of the economic downturn felt by much of the industry, and has been forced to reduce its workforce - a step taken to ensure it comes out of this rough time "a stronger company". On top of this, it received a hefty fine for failure to remove copyrighted content back in 2019, after losing an appeal against the initial ruling.
In 2024, Vimeo is rumoured to be in the process of acquisition by leading mobile app developer Bending Spoons, which could signify a major shift in the tech landscape.
