Role
Who you are
- 8+ years experience in Product Operations, Product Management or a related field
- Market research experience and deep knowledge of Google Suite, BigQuery, BI tools (e.g. Looker), and Product tools
- Exceptionally analytical. You operate with curiosity and a dedication to driving the best decision-making

What the job involves
- In this role, you will be accountable for ensuring we move tightly from strategy to execution
- You will do this by putting customers at the heart of decision-making by drawing together disparate qualitative and quantitative data into coherent analysis
- You'll ensure those insights, along with Platform strategic priorities, translate into our product roadmaps by running our roadmapping process
- You'll then ensure we have the transparency needed to stay on track with our commitments – whether those are to strategic goals or cost optimizations – by developing our reporting processes and tools
- And in partnership with Go-To-Market Operations, you will help those building products and those bringing them to market to work in lockstep
- Take full ownership for the Product & Business Operations, Platform domain, including setting KPIs and targets, ensuring these are met, and acting as the direct point of contact for the Platform Leadership Team on all matters related to strategic planning and communication
- Act as a thought partner to our PM leaders, consulting with them to understand what they need to build product plans they have confidence in and ensuring they receive that support
- Empower PMs to deliver high-impact work efficiently by refining the tools and frameworks product development runs on and driving adoption through change management
- Foreground the customer in decision-making by unifying teams around data and analysis. Includes conducting market research and distributing insights from various functions
- Ensure we're investing wisely to deliver our strategy by owning our roadmapping process. Includes creating reliable ways to involve collaborators from different functions and business units
- Reinforce a results-focused culture by helping lead PMs identify meaningful metrics, determine appropriate targets, track performance, and turn analysis into action at pace
- Create awareness of Platform progress while driving accountability within our org by running weekly progress reporting, monthly OKR and quarterly business review processes
- Support responsible budget management by owning tools and processes that give functional leaders clarity over their spend and encourage cost optimizations
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members and stakeholders, including regular and reliable attendance and participation in meetings
- Required in-office 2 days on Tuesday and Wednesday

Niantic Labs is a software development company creating augmented reality mobile games, such as Monster Hunter Now, Pikmin Bloom, and Pokémon GO, that encourage players to go outside, explore, and meet people. The company was formed in 2010 as an internal startup within Google. Since its inception, hundreds of millions of people have used its products and services.
Although Niantic made a name for itself in the mobile gaming industry through the success of Pokémon Go, the company is hoping to become a platform for other developers to build location-aware AR apps on top of. In 2022, it released a location mapping software for AR, allowing AR experiences to be grounded to a physical location, like the front of a building or a park monument, rather than just floating aimlessly through a phone’s camera view.
Niantic plans to use this platform for an AR-based metaverse, an alternative to Meta’s plans for a VR-based metaverse that renders us bound to VR headsets. The company believes that an AR metaverse on a 3D map of the world will play a critical role in the next transition in computing, and raised funds to make this vision a reality in 2021.
