The company's main focus has been to tackle the blockchain "trilemma", that refers to the fact that blockchains struggle to optimize decentralization, security and scalability at once. It has approached this by innovating on already tested strategies, such as sharding and PBFT, as well as developing a novel Proof-of-Stake mechanism in-house.

Since launching in 2019, the Harmony mainnet has seen over 700,000 thousand transactions in native ONE tokens. As it expands operations, Harmony has its sights set on driving network utilization, developing finance primitives and delivering new products.
