Role
Who you are
- You have 1-2 years of professional marketing experience
- You're a strong communicator, capable of understanding complex and technical ideas and packaging them into compelling messages
- You have basic/intermediate understanding of marketing principles and a willingness to learn more
- You're highly organised and can multi-task effectively
- You're familiar with some digital marketing tools and platforms (e.g., social media, email marketing)
- You have proactive, can-do attitude and a willingness to take on new challenges
- You're comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- You're a creative thinker with an eye for detail
Desirable
- Experience or interest in the higher education sector, academic research, policy, publishing, or scholarly communications sectors is a plus, but not required
What the job involves
- Assisting in the development and execution of marketing campaigns
- Drafting and scheduling social media posts, newsletters, and other content
- Helping to organise and coordinate conference attendance and events
- Supporting the creation of blogs, guides, and other marketing materials
- Assisting with the creation of sales collateral, such as leaflets and website copy
- Liaising with clients to gather case studies and testimonials
- Monitoring market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities
- Tracking and reporting on the success of marketing activities

- The first interview will be about an hour long and will be online
- After this there will be a practical assessment and a second interview. There may be a third interview at our discretion
- We’ll make a provisional offer. We’ll be interviewing a number of candidates so there may be a short delay, but we will try to keep you informed throughout the process

Overton has built one of the world’s largest searchable indexes of policy documents, think tank publications, working papers and guidelines in a bid to help universities and other research teams measure how their work influences policy-making decisions.
The company is still in its early stages, having been founded in 2019, but it's got an ambitious long term goal of making government policy making, or rather the evidence behind it, more transparent.
Given the fact that Overton has built a pioneering product, and is targeting sales from well-funded universities, NGOs and government agencies, its prospects are pretty bright. The company is focused on refining its software to ensure source coverage, and introducing new features.
