Who you are
- A minimum of four GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades A*–C, including Maths, English and Science
- A genuine interest in electrical or practical engineering subjects
- Strong safety awareness and a responsible approach to working in an industrial environment
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others
- Attention to detail and a willingness to learn and develop new skills

- Due to the nature of this role applicants must be non-smokers and have been free from nicotine products for at least 3 months
What the job involves
- At Johnson Matthey, your work will matter. As an Electrical Apprentice, you’ll join a world leader in platinum group metals with over 200 years of history
- Using advanced metals chemistry, you’ll help tackle the world’s biggest challenges - cutting emissions, powering modern life and supporting life‑saving technologies - by applying, refining and recycling metals that matter for a healthier, more sustainable, circular future
- Supporting the electrical maintenance team with planned and reactive maintenance activities
- Assisting with fault finding on electrical systems, motors, control panels and plant equipment
- Following safe systems of work, including electrical isolation and permit procedures
- Developing skills in electrical testing, inspection and control systems through supervised practice
- Completing apprenticeship coursework and maintaining an up-to-date development portfolio
