Role
Who you are
- 8+ years of product management or equivalent experience, including 3+ years in a product leadership position
- Demonstrated success in managing a technical product portfolio, ideally in the cloud-native and Kubernetes ecosystems
- Proven ability to define and execute on a compelling product vision and roadmap, with a track record of thriving in flat, highly cross-functional organizations
- Strong technical background, such as a degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience engaging directly with enterprise customers and translating complex needs into actionable product requirements
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to a fast-moving, high-growth environment
- Expertise in API connectivity, service mesh, and related technologies is a strong plus
What the job involves
- Define and drive Solo.io’s product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with company objectives and market trends
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of product managers to deliver on Solo’s strategic goals
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, marketing, and customer success to deliver world-class products that meet market demands and delight customers
- Direct engagement with customers, prospects, and analysts to stay at the forefront of emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics in our industry
- Evaluate opportunities for strategic expansion within current, adjacent, and net new markets as part of Solo’s overall product and partnership strategy
- Represent the product organization in executive discussions, contributing to overall company strategy and decision-making
- Work hands-on with the product and engineering teams to analyze, design, define, and execute on product features and enhancements
- Partner with marketing and sales to craft compelling messaging, positioning, and go-to-market strategies for Solo.io’s product portfolio

Service meshes are a critical piece of infrastructure for a lot of companies that aim to be cloud-native, with hundreds or more microservices, businesses need a way to track what’s running in their networks. Solo.io provides connectivity between microservices in the cloud through its API gateways and service mesh.
The unicorn company hit its $1B valuation in 2021 and was one of the only to be led by a woman. The company’s growth is due in part to the growing number of companies re-architecting their applications to microservices and Kubernetes, gaining new customers, and its 100% business renewal rate and account expansion from existing customers.
Solo.io counts some of the world’s biggest data centres and Cloud services as customers, including T-Mobile, Pega, BMW, American Express and Booking.com. The company has used its Altimeter Capital-led Series C funding round to expand its offerings, developing new products and adaptable technology.
