Role
Who you are
- 10+ Years Product Management Experience with 3+ years leading product managers or product teams
- Director‑level product leadership with a track record of setting vision, driving outcomes, and scaling healthy teams
- Ability to get things done at scale: repeated examples of shipping high‑quality products that improved core business metrics
- Excellent product sense: sharp judgment on where to invent versus simplify, with a high bar for usability, performance, and accessibility
- Deep customer empathy: strong qualitative research chops that translate into crisp priorities and thoughtful tradeoffs
- Strong data fluency: defines clear KPIs, integrates quantitative and qualitative signals, and updates conviction quickly
- Clear, structured communication that drives alignment across levels and functions
- Technical depth to engage on architecture, integrations, reliability, and constraints
- Experience in restaurant or retail operations, including mission-critical, in-store workflows
- Familiarity with POS ecosystems, hardware-plus-software products, or offline-tolerant systems
- Background in payments or fintech, including onboarding, reconciliation, disputes, or financial reporting

- You will lead all the restaurant facing product teams spanning POS, Payments, Mobile, Web, and AI-powered agent services, setting a unified strategy that drives revenue growth, operational excellence, and best-in-class guest experiences for thousands of restaurants and millions of diners
- Set clear multi‑year product visions and roadmaps, balancing near‑term wins with durable platform bets
- Deliver reliable, intuitive experiences across in‑store and online workflows so operators move faster and guests have a consistently excellent experience
- Establish measurable goals and operating rhythms that tie team work to business outcomes like conversion, speed of service, retention, and revenue
- Drive rigorous discovery and fast, high‑quality delivery, ensuring launches are well‑tested, clearly communicated, and easy to adopt
- Strengthen product quality bars for performance, accessibility, and usability across web, app, and in‑store surfaces
- Build and mentor a small portfolio of PM teams, up-leveling product sense, decision quality, and cross‑functional collaboration
- Design and Engineering partners to ship polished, resilient flows across web dashboard, in‑store POS, and payments touchpoints
- Data and BizOps to size opportunities, define KPIs, and attribute impact across conversion, speed of service, reliability, and revenue
- Customer‑facing teams in Launch, Success, and Support to bring field insights into the roadmap and ensure clean rollouts and enablement
- Go‑to‑market partners to position capabilities clearly and communicate value to prospects and customers
- Adjacent product areas to ensure the end‑to‑end guest and operator journey is cohesive and scalable
Our take
The Pandemic caused a major upheaval in the US restaurant industry. Smaller operations struggled to stay afloat amidst brick-and-mortar closures, and as the demand for home delivery soared their margins were tightened further by hefty third-party delivery app charges. Add to that the fact that consumers become customers of the delivery app, not the restaurant itself, and it’s a development that has spelt real trouble for independent locales. Owner has set out to level the playing field.
Owner’s platform provides independent restaurants with the infrastructure they need to take control of their business without deferring to third-party apps like GrubHub and Deliveroo. It offers marketing, online ordering, and support solutions to over 10,000 restaurants across the U.S. The company has taken impressive first strides, too: they have a 7 figure run-rate, over 105% monthly revenue retention, and helped restaurants avoid millions in online order platform fees.
It’s a hugely attractive proposition for independent business owners, and research suggests it’s a winning idea for consumers too. Over 60% say they’d prefer to deal with restaurants directly, but historically the infrastructure simply hasn’t been in place to do so. With Owner seeing impressive traction by tripling its customers between 2023 and 2024, it's unsurprising that its 2025 funding is being channelled into engineering and design teams, alongside the development of new tools.
