Role
Who you are
- Strong macOS fluency is a must, with solid working knowledge of iOS and ideally some exposure to ChromeOS and Android. You've managed device fleets end-to-end — MDM enrollment, imaging, asset tracking — and you keep things clean and documented without being asked
- You're comfortable with networking fundamentals: configuring APs, troubleshooting connectivity issues, and handling basic VLAN and WiFi work without waiting on a vendor for every config change. You don't need to be a network engineer, but you should be able to own the setup
- You've worked with tools like Okta, Google Workspace, and Slack at an admin level, not just as a user. Familiarity with our broader SaaS stack is a plus — the more of it you've touched, the faster you'll hit the ground running
- You have a natural inclination to automate repetitive work — whether that's MDM workflows, scripting routine tasks, or building out ticket routing rules. You notice inefficiency and do something about it
- You've supported senior leaders before and understand what that actually means: being proactive, reading the room, moving fast without making noise, and treating discretion as a baseline expectation
- You're someone who can operate in a role with real ownership and no rigid playbook
What the job involves
- We're looking for an IT Support Engineer to own the end-to-end technology experience across our San Francisco office, executive team, and warehouse operations
- You'll be responsible for ensuring our devices, networks, conference rooms, and operational systems are reliable, secure, and ready to scale
- Beyond day-to-day support, you'll build the processes, automation, documentation, and infrastructure that allow a fast-growing company to operate efficiently as we expand
- The right person is equally comfortable troubleshooting a critical issue in real time, supporting an executive before an important meeting, and designing scalable systems that eliminate entire categories of future problems
- Be the IT backbone of our San Francisco office. You'll be the person employees and execs rely on to make technology invisible — fast hardware, reliable WiFi, and conference rooms that just work, every time
- Enable exec and leadership effectiveness. You'll provide white-glove device and AV support to our leadership team, making sure no board meeting, investor call, or all-hands is ever derailed by tech
- Build the systems that scale us. We're growing fast. You won't just fix tickets — you'll build the asset management, onboarding, and network infrastructure playbooks that work at several times our current headcount
- Own our warehouse team’s IT stack. Scanners, terminals, printers — the physical systems that keep our operations running will be yours to keep online, documented, and resilient
- Every team at Owner. IT is one of the most cross-functional roles in the company — you'll support everyone from SDRs on their first day to engineers debugging production issues, and you'll be a trusted partner to all of them
- Security and Platform teams. You'll work closely with Security and Platform to ensure our endpoint posture, MDM configuration, and SaaS access controls are tight and scalable — not just functional
Our take
The Pandemic caused a major upheaval in the US restaurant industry. Smaller operations struggled to stay afloat amidst brick-and-mortar closures, and as the demand for home delivery soared their margins were tightened further by hefty third-party delivery app charges. Add to that the fact that consumers become customers of the delivery app, not the restaurant itself, and it’s a development that has spelt real trouble for independent locales. Owner has set out to level the playing field.
Owner’s platform provides independent restaurants with the infrastructure they need to take control of their business without deferring to third-party apps like GrubHub and Deliveroo. It offers marketing, online ordering, and support solutions to over 10,000 restaurants across the U.S. The company has taken impressive first strides, too: they have a 7 figure run-rate, over 105% monthly revenue retention, and helped restaurants avoid millions in online order platform fees.
It’s a hugely attractive proposition for independent business owners, and research suggests it’s a winning idea for consumers too. Over 60% say they’d prefer to deal with restaurants directly, but historically the infrastructure simply hasn’t been in place to do so. With Owner seeing impressive traction by tripling its customers between 2023 and 2024, it's unsurprising that its 2025 funding is being channelled into engineering and design teams, alongside the development of new tools.
