Role
Who you are
- A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years of experience in a marketing role. 2+ years in marketing operations
- Marketing strategy and planning experience including identification of target audiences and developing ongoing competitive analysis and market research programs
- Proficiency in Hubspot, Salesforce, and other marketing software
- Proficiency with Asana / project management software
- Prior marketing strategy and operations experience preferably within a regulated industry
- Experience managing both projects and ongoing marketing activities
- Excellent technical capabilities and communication skills
Desirable
- Agency experience in account management or strategy and/or in-house marketing operations experience
- Familiarity with SEO reporting
- Familiarity with A/B testing methodologies and optimization techniques for marketing campaigns
- Proficiency in reporting and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Google Data Studio) to present marketing performance insights
- Project management certification or experience managing complex marketing projects
What the job involves
- In this role, you will be the go-to person ensuring that all marketing activities are on track and reported clearly and systemically with an eye beyond just performance to business impact. To succeed in this role, you will think steps ahead to identify any points where efforts may get stuck along the way.
- Your love of analysis will shine through in your ability to present both accomplishments and challenges, identify opportunities for the business to stand out and recommend new breakthrough ideas. You will be a key member of a small yet high-performing team where your input and ideas will allow us to increase our output and impact
- Managing marketing projects and activities including short-term initiatives and ongoing support for activities such as content publishing, social media, etc
- Preparing monthly Marketing reporting including activity performance (email marketing, SEO, etc.) against goals
- Developing and presenting ongoing competitor and market tracking programs
- Tracking ongoing partner marketing performance
- Assisting in troubleshooting operational issues and proposing solutions to fix root causes
- Partner with colleagues across Marketing Sales, and Business Operations to accelerate and optimize activities.
- Make strategic improvements that inform strategy, performance marketing, client engagement and other marketing activities.
- Create and maintain documentation of key marketing operations processes
Our take
EquityZen is a financial services platform connecting investors with employee shareholders at private companies. The former get the opportunity to invest in pre-IPO assets, and the latter get the opportunity to make cash from an otherwise illiquid employment benefit. It’s a model that’s helped EquityZen establish itself as a strong player in the private shares market for nearly a decade now.
Pre-market shares have been hot property in the past, however, some report that a stagnancy in the IPO market has investors taking their interest elsewhere - they don’t want wealth locked into IPOs that may take years to arrive. It’s left EquityZen with a preponderance of shareholders on the platform, and that’s pushing down private share prices.
This, however, may be on the mend - some suggest IPOs are back on the horizon after traversing an understandably rocky patch over Covid. Moreover, EquityZen sellers are offering some impressive and high demand pre-market shares: think Byte Dance Ltd, and SpaceX. So this will likely insulate the company until demand picks up again. Further bolstering the company's upward trajectory is its award for Best Retail Investment Company at the 2023 FinTech Breakthrough Awards.
