Who you are
- Demonstrated experience with Python in a production-level environment
- Some familiarity with AI/ML pipelines and the ML model development and deployment lifecycle

What the job involves
- As a Forward Deployed ML Engineering Intern at Baseten, you will partner with our customers to understand their problems and engineer ML solutions using state-of-the-art models and our open-source Truss system
- This role provides a unique front-row view into the opportunities and challenges facing companies implementing ML and AI solutions at scale
- Use Baseten’s open-source Truss framework to build and test the latest ML models
- Research generative AI models and techniques and add them to our public model library for users to deploy
- Partner with customers to support production ML use cases
- Collaborate with other Baseten engineers to optimize ML model performance for specific use cases
- Contribute to Truss or create open-source projects powered by Baseten

As with its mathematical namesake, Baseten focuses on simplifying the complex. The San Francisco startup focuses on simplifying the integration of artificial intelligence into businesses. The tools that Baseten built demolish the need for businesses to hire specialised engineers, utilising the huge strides in artificial intelligence that we’ve seen in the last few years without adding workload to businesses.
With serious funding, Baseten plans to use its investment to expand its engineering and go-to-market teams. This is part of its focus on helping companies implement the tools that they have at their disposal, a long-overlooked aspect of machine learning that many businesses have been eager to champion, but uncertain on how to actually use.
Simplifying the complex world of artificial intelligence for business is no mean feat but the three founders, who met whilst working as engineers at Gumroad, have a lot of experience in how to navigate this gap in the market.

Today, our team (including our founding team) is spread across the United States, Canada, and Armenia. We provide a $1,000 stipend for you to make your home-office comfortable and productive
