Who you are

You have a degree in B.Sc or M.Sc. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related
4+ years of industry experience as web front-end or full stack developer
Industry experience with front-end technologies including Typescript and React
Proficiency in Python or similar languages
Industry experience integrating with datastores such as BigQuery, PostgreSQL
Industry experience working cross functionally with backend-engineers, UX design, and product managers to launch 0 to 1 products
Experience with REST API design
Experience with CI/CD Tools such as Jenkins, Bazel, etc

What the job involves

Nuro takes a machine-learning-first approach to autonomous driving technology
In an ML-first system, the overall system performance depends heavily on the quantity and diversity of its training and evaluation data
The team plays a crucial role in the advancement of autonomous driving systems by creating a scalable and reliable data infrastructure and tooling
This infrastructure is designed to produce training and evaluation data derived from both on-road logs, simulation logs, and evaluation results
Additionally, the team collaborates closely with system engineers to thoroughly validate the autonomous driving system before its deployment. Our team’s goals are to
Accelerate autonomy iteration by generating useful evaluation signals
Promote data consistent between Behavior and Safety teams
About the Work
Design and develop a tooling platform to ingest, store, and trace Petabytes of ingested onroad data
Design and develop intuitive tools to visualize, aggregate, and introspectable training data, processing pipelines, and evaluation results to facilitate comparisons in identifing progression and regression for each ML component
Develop and maintain continuous testing and monitoring systems to guarantee data integrity and resilience of our data pipelines

Its vehicles have a distinctive, futuristic, design that has not only made the vehicles noticeable from a marketing point of view, but, has also made its vehicles stand out to other road users, improving safety.

Nuro is an exciting addition to the autonomous vehicle landscape. Without a passenger inside the vehicle, it has been able to sidestep some of the safety issues that have plagued other autonomous vehicle brands. Additionally, the company has landed several high-profile partners, including Uber, Walmart, Chipotle, and Kroger.

With home deliveries at an all-time high, many companies are looking for ways to get goods to customers’ homes as fast as possible. Low-cost, efficient services such as Nuro's offering are becoming increasingly attractive. The company is turning its focus to commercializing and scaling the production of its third-generation vehicle at a new facility in Southern Nevada as it hopes to expand its services across the US.
