Role
Who you are
- A Senior Applied Scientist with strong quantitative skills, foundations in advanced computational methods (optimization, statistics, data science) and strong programming skills (Python preferred but not required)
- You are a strong team player and ready to collaborate with various teams in different countries. You also know how to work independently. You are eager to join a fast-growing scale up and the expanding Energy Team
- An engineering / scientific background is needed as well as strong business acumen. Previous experience with applied energy systems modeling and/or pricing modeling is a plus
- You are fluent in English. Fluency in German or French is a strong plus

What the job involves
- Part of the Energy Science & Public Affairs team, you will develop computational tools to accelerate our ongoing efforts, especially smart pricing
- Setting the right pricing strategy is key to finding the right balance between competitiveness and profitability. You will:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across disciplines such as marketing, product, engineering, and operations to drive the development of our smart pricing system end-to-end from ideation to execution
- Build our price simulation and optimization engine that generates fresh customer-relevant prices on all our stations from data such as the cost of energy, local constraints, demand, and competitive intelligence
- Design, run, analyze science-based experiments to estimate elasticities and draw detailed and actionable conclusions

As more people make the change to electric vehicles, public charging stations are in high demand. Electra is revolutionising electric vehicle charging with its installation of fast charging stations across major and medium-sized urban areas across Europe. In addition to the obvious benefit of having access to a fast-charging station, the company’s mobile and web application makes finding a station as simple as possible with its unique features.
The company has received support and recognition from the French government, joining the French Tech Next40, a government support program dedicated to the most promising French scale-ups and future European heavyweights.
The company saw a substantial injection of funding in mid-2022 that has enabled to company to accelerate its coverage of France and further expand in Europe – expanding to Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, and more. With a goal of deploying 8,000 charging by 2030, the young company is certainly making promising progress toward achieving this goal.
