Who you are

Strong communication skills both in French & English to facilitate the design of scalable architectures with SREs
French can be a "nice to have" if you have several professional web3 experiences
Golang (over 1 year of experience)
Over 4 years of experience designing, building, and deploying user-facing, infrastructure-related, and/or API-based products (Python, PHP...)
Experience coding in JavaScript and TypeScript is a plus
Experience working with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Continuous Integration is a plus
Familiarity with GCP is a plus
Curiosity and the ability to dig into a topic and follow through
Team spirit: discuss, do not try to impose
Be pragmatic to not over-engineer unnecessarily: startups need to quickly adapt

What the job involves

We’re looking for a Back-end Engineer at Kiln. We are maintaining about 26 protocols
In this role, you’ll be responsible for:
1) Building the product: You’ll be working closely with the Product and Infrastructure teams to plan, architect, and implement our core product. You’ll take part in the construction of the roadmap with the rest of the team. In this role, it includes:
Development of data aggregators for blockchains
Development of new Golang microservices within the Kiln stack
Taking part in automation & deployment processes
Framework development
2) Owning what you build: As you architect, test, and refine the Kiln platform, you will ensure that our services communicate with each other seamlessly, have minimal downtime, and recover quickly (daytime, no on-calls)
3) Helping grow the Team: Everyone on the early team plays an important role in attracting, closing, and growing other talented team members. You can also mentor or brainstorm with other backend developers
Our stack
Mostly in Golang with a bit of JavaScript and TypeScript
Communication between services is done using HTTP Rest, and most of our databases are backed by PostgreSQL
Everything runs in Kubernetes on GCP

Kiln's staking infrastructure is marketed chiefly at enterprises. Companies can offer staking directly, or can buy a staking product that integrates with their existing services. Kiln's team is made up of veterans of companies such as Google, ConsenSys and Palantir, which has shaped its future-facing technology considerably.

With the crypto economy continuing to grow and mature, investor interest in staking is rising, explaining Kiln's successful 2024 Series A funding bid which will help it to expand across the APAC region where it has opened a Singapore office. Given its already enviable customer base, Kiln is likely to be a major name in this lucrative market.
