Role
Who you are
- Experience in Marketing particularly in B2C and B2B marketing campaigns, preferably within a third sector or healthcare setting
- Experience in planning and executing targeted, audience led marketing campaigns, and analysing campaign results
- Experience in managing end to end campaigns, including evaluation
- Excellent project/time management and organisational skills, and experience of managing content and collaborating with team calendars and processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and proofreading skills
- Ability to deliver multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal skills, a positive and proactive attitude, and the ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment are needed
- Attention to detail with a creative approach and good negotiation skills
What the job involves
- The Marketing Manager role is an exciting opportunity to work closely across two teams (Brand & Marketing, and Patient Services), reporting directly to a Senior Marketing Manager within the Brand & Marketing team
- The Marketing Manager will manage the marketing of a portfolio of products including grants for nurses, telephone support for patients, and Family Camp – an outdoor activity weekend we run for the families of children affected by stem cell transplants
- You will be responsible for raising awareness of these support services and information available to transplant recipients, relatives and healthcare professionals to ensure a future where every patient who needs us can survive and thrive
- You will be the key driver to deliver our marketing campaigns, planning and attending visits to hospitals across the UK, building relationships with healthcare professionals and developing our retention plan to this audience
- You will lead in content delivered for Nurses Day and support recruitment and delivery of our Nurses Adoption programme
- You will test and develop paid channels to our target audience
- You will deliver branded materials in hospitals and support the Head of Patient Services with Family Camp, British Transplant Games and our Patient and Families Forum
- Delivery of the Patient Services Marketing strategy against agreed objectives and KPIs, to time and on budget
- Project managing target-driven marketing campaigns, working closely with our media agency for paid advertising
- Building constructive relationships with healthcare professionals, Transplant Centres, stem cell transplant recipients and families
- Reviewing branded materials in hospitals and scope out market research to create insight led resources
- An understanding of the information needs of patients, relatives and healthcare professionals
- Liaising with a range of internal and external stakeholders such as the Content Team, PR, Digital Acquisition, Web & Email, Stories Manager, Influencing, Internal Communications, B2B and Patient Services
- Planning, managing, reforecasting and reporting against budgets

Founded in 1974 to find bone marrow donors for people suffering with blood cancer, Anthony Nolan is today one of Britain's largest recruiters of stem cell donors, along with DKMS, the Welsh Blood Service and NHS Blood and Transplant. As only one in four people with blood cancer will find a compatible donor in their family, Anthony Nolan's work saves over 1,000 lives a year worldwide.
Aside from recruiting donors, Anthony Nolan conducts research through the Anthony Nolan Research Institute, with its findings reducing post-transplant complications and increasing quality of life for patients. It also maintains the UK's first dedicated cord blood bank which allows new mothers to donate their umbilical cords for research.
Despite significant advances in blood cancer tratment since Anthony Nolan's founding, there's still a critical shortage of donors, sworsened by a sharp declinesiunce 2019. To combat this, the charity is actively raising awareness of this issue and is also set to open a new stem cell donation centre at Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham to further help address the gap.
