Who you are

4+ years of professional backend software engineering experience
Experience with server-side languages like Java, Python, or C++
Experience with relational databases (MySQL, Postgres, SQL Server)
Ability to complete complex projects involving partners across multiple teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bonus: Experience working with high traffic distributed systems
Bonus: Fullstack development experience and a desire to do greenfield javascript development for a primarily backend team

What the job involves

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Calculations team within our Core Product Engineering organization
Our team is focused on building outstanding user experiences, powerful APIs, and sophisticated analysis and visualization tools for our global customer base of Financial Advisors and Wealth Managers
The Calculations team builds sophisticated financial math functions into Addepar, with an emphasis on scalability and performance
Our algorithms comprise the foundation of the analytics platform!
Develop and implement new financial concepts our product vision within a multi-functional team as we expand into new geographies
Enhance the performance and capabilities of the core Addepar calculations engine, analyzing millions of transactions and securities every day
Create innovative and impactful features that delight our users
Collaborate on architecture designs, product features, and code reviews
Own software features from inception through delivery

Investment advisers require speed, clarity and flexibility when managing client portfolios. Addepar is a wealth management software platform created with these requirements in mind. The platform aggregates portfolio, market, and client data in one place, allowing financial professionals to analyze and visualize the data they need.

Addepar currently tracks more than $4 trillion of assets with circa 800 clients including individual advisers, family offices, and large institutions such as AllianceBernstein, Bartlett Wealth Management, and Morgan Stanley.

The multi-unicorn company has been pursuing global expansion, opening its first office outside of the United States in Scotland in 2021 and a new London office in late 2022 and appointing new leadership members from the likes of Oracle and Amazon Web Services.
