Who you are

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
10+ years of experience in accounting with at least 4-5 years in managerial or a leadership role
CPA required
Proficiency with Netsuite required
Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP)
Experience with ADP and Stampli a plus
Analytical mindset and ability to interpret financial data
Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
Strong communication skills to interact with executive management and external auditors
High attention to detail
Strong leadership and management skills

What the job involves

Spot & Tango is looking for a Controller to join our NY HQ team! In this role, you will report directly to the VP of Finance
The Controller will manage and oversee all financial aspects of the company. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting, and implementation of strong internal controls
This role is pivotal in maintaining and ensuring the company’s financial stability and compliance
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, etc.)
Ensure compliance with US GAAP accounting standards
Present financial reports to executive management and key business stakeholders
Monitor internal controls, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations
Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process
Manage tax filings, ensuring compliance with local, state and federal tax regulations
Provide financial insights to support strategic business decisions, identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving profitability
