Who you are

Bachelor’s degree or higher, in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or related discipline
4 to 7 Years of total experience as a site reliability engineer
Cloud: AWS/Azure/GCP
Linux: Solid understanding of Linux Systems, sed/awk/grep/egrep, VI/VIM/Emacs, netstat, lsof, strace, ps/top/atop/dstat, grub boot config & systems rescue, fstab/disk labels, ext3/ext4, IPtables, sysstat (sar/vmstat/iostat etc), run-levels & startup scripts, sudo/chroot
Scripting: Bash/Python
Development Languages and Frameworks: Python/Django, Vue, React, Go Lang
Fundamentals: Basic DNS & Networking, TCP/UDP, IP Routing, HA & Load Balancing Concepts
Application Protocols: SMTP, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, IMAP, POP
Tools/Utilities: Nagios, Yum, RPM, GIT, Grafana, Prometheus, New Relic, ELK, Docker, Jenkins
Certifications: RHCSA/RHCE/AWS (SysOps)

What the job involves

As a Cyware SRE, your mission is to protect, provide for, and progress the software and systems of our Production environments with an ever watchful eye on their availability, latency, performance and capacity
Participate in 24x7 shifts
Coordinate with SRE and Engineering Team
Manage the Cloud Command Centre Team
Monitor the stability of our products with various internal tools
Handle incident response, troubleshooting and fix for various products/services
Handle escalations as per policies/procedures
Get different internal/external groups together to resolve production site issues effectively
Communicate clearly on tickets, phone calls made to the team about various issues
Exhibit a sense of urgency to resolve issues
Ensure SLA’s and Operational standards are met
Raise tickets to different internal groups to resolve recurrent problems, alerts and follow-up on escalated issues
Liaison with engineering teams for RCA’s, permanent resolutions on issues affecting production sites
Contribute to Operations handbook
Ensure smooth hand-offs between shifts

Our take

The rise of digital threats, such as ransomware, has resulted in a huge necessity for digital threat intelligence. However, data collection has not yet been innovated on this, resulting in the success of a service being dependent on the laborious task of sifting through massive amounts of data.

Cyware provides an open-source threat intelligence package that automatically collects and analyses cyber-threat data. This provides an efficient and accessible solution for security analysts to tackle threat intelligence challenges. Ultimately, it allows them to focus on acting on resolutions, rather than analyzing the data to find solutions manually.

Whilst many software companies provide cyber intelligence analytic solutions, the open-source nature of Cyware allows security analysts to collaborate. As a result, the startup provides a means to identify and prevent malicious hacking at an unprecedented rate.
