Who you are

Proven experienced in a Debt Collections role (2+ years desirable)
Either experienced as a Team Leader or have ambition to move into such role
Able to quickly build rapport and trust with people, particular over the telephone. You’ll communicate with clarity and empathy
Be a quick and adaptable learner when it comes to technology
Be a master of negotiation and conflict resolution
Be great at time-management, with a high level of attention to detail
A fan of autonomy. We’re a tight but global team with big ambitions, so we don’t micromanage. We need a team player who uses their own initiative
CICM/CSA qualified (desirable)
Experienced in asset finance and/or rental products. (desirable)

What the job involves

Reporting to our Head of Collections (based out of our Sydney HQ), you will act as a Senior member of the team managing the day to day collections for our UK division. Some of your responsibilities will look a bit like this:
Timely collection of weekly invoices
You’ll shape our continuous improvement by defining, creating and refining processes to manage the debtors of Splend
Build relationships with your customers through regular contact via email and phone calls
When our members are no longer in Splend vehicles, you’ll make them aware of any outstanding amounts owed to us. You’ll discuss this with them and negotiate win-win outcomes, maintaining a strong partnership for the future

Our take

Splend was launched with the intention of letting anyone generate an income by driving for Uber, even if they don't own a car. They now own thousands of vehicles across the world, which they rent to people so they can drive for ride-sharing companies.

Splend piggy-backed off the growth of ride-sharing companies, mainly Uber, which enabled it to attract significant investment. Even though the ride-sharing market is starting to wane in popularity, the industry is stilll filled with well-backed companies, and Splend has ridden this wave to becoming a self-sustaining company.

Splend has now moved on to explore other gig economy opportunities like food and parcel delivery, as well as shifting focus to electric and hybrid cars to support the green transition. Recently, it received a grant from the Clean Energy Financing Corporation (CEFC) that will be used to double the number of EVs in its fleet.
